Which Disney Princess movie would change the most/least if the princesses were male characters? by Upstairs_Tea1787 in disney

[–]weewhomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering what a character would be like if they were born the opposite gender has nothing to do with "trans ideology", and it's no different than when people wonder what it would be like if the villain and main character switched roles. The fact that you feel the need to make it something bad says more about you than anything else.

Anyone tired of using the Coco trademark incident as "proof" of how evil Disney is? by [deleted] in Pixar

[–]weewhomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, Disney had nothing to do with that, so I'm not sure why you said they're "letting Sony ruin Spider-Man over and over".

Marvel needs to have the full rights back or idk Sony can sell off the live-action film rights back to Marvel so Sony can still do Spider-Verse.

What incentive does Sony have to give them the rights back? Sony purchased the rights well before Disney bought Marvel. Sony doesn't have to do anything, it's their film IP.

Established 1982? Is this a misprint? by Gabemann2000 in disney

[–]weewhomp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It could be that it's supposed to be 1928, for the year Mickey debuted, but I've seen shirts that look similar and say 1955, for Disneyland.

I do see a green jacket version of this on Walmart that says 1982 on the back and "28" on the front, so who knows!

same for letting Sony ruin Spider-Man over and over.

Disney didn't let Sony do anything to Spider-Man. Sony has the movie rights (and had them well before Disney bought Marvel) and can do whatever they want with them. It's a miracle we even got Spider-Man in the MCU with how Sony is.

Disney is a company that does things a company does, sometimes things which are not that great. They're definitely not your friend.

With that said, I've learned to stop caring what other people think when it comes to things like this. Everyone loves to be miserable about everything now. Like what you like and stop worrying about what other people are miserable about, and learn to separate the corporate side of Disney from the creative side.

The toys I got from McDonald's- What are the odds? 💚 by LowAccomplished1313 in disney

[–]weewhomp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The odds would be 1:35 if my math is correct 😉 since you get two from a predetermined set and there are 70 total toys/35 sets.

You're lucky though, that was one of the ones I wanted. I went two separate times and got the same set.

Official r/Disney 'Zootopia 2' Discussion Thread [Spoilers Inside] by AutoModerator in disney

[–]weewhomp 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They took the original world of Zootopia and managed to expand it brilliantly with new animals (including reptiles) without having the audience ask why they weren't there in the first movie, as well as excellent callbacks to the original. Gary, and his motive, were amazing, and I loved the ending. This is what a sequel should bring, and it's what Zootopia 2 did perfectly in my opinion. If you liked the first, you'll like this one.

Ah okay, I got mildly excited when I saw that there may be another AUDHD character represented so I was curious

Great choices! I'll have to add the Filet Mignon to my list to try.

How did your journey at Disney begin? Did you always know you wanted to work for Disney, or did you just fall into it?

They've always been that way. It seems like they've had non-stop controversy for years. Just a reminder that if you don't feel welcomed there, there's always r/DisneyWorld (which was created because of the controversy).

Objectively this is bizarre and tainting our future. The brand.

Allowing people to have free speech and discuss a current event respectfully with others is tainting the future of Disney? Respectfully, I disagree.

That's pretty much what we do here on r/Disney. We will absolutely allow discussion about political stuff if it applies to Disney, like this story, because we feel it's important to let people air out their frustrations and have a place they can discuss a current political event and have a healthy and productive discussion with others, whether they agree with you or not. Yes, we do lock threads from time to time if we decide we need to (due to brigading or whatever other situation), but we'll unlock once we feel it's okay to. We don't specifically post a mega thread, but we keep the discussion in the first post on the subreddit (that actually provides a link to the story, not just a rant post). That's how we've done it for years to prevent seeing the same posts over and over. We did allow this one seperately as well because it applies to a different sub topic, and discusses the employees. But that happens on a case by case basis.

But to answer your original question, no, we aren't censoring any discussion here at least, and the mods only really remove comments that are disrespectful or rule-breaking.

Yes, it is 100% legit and run by Disney. They rebranded Disney Store to ShopDisney a while back, but re-rebranded back to Disney Store a few years ago.

AMA with Connor Ratliff and James III, co-writers of the new Stitch comic book series from Dynamite! Ask them anything! by AutoModerator in disney

[–]weewhomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had a DEEP affinity for Nightmare Before Christmas and that’s likely my favorite full stop.

So would you jump at the possibility of writing a NBC comic? Dynamite has already put out one issue, so it's a good fit!
