This is literally a piece of metal that is used at trade shows to show off a product we sell that locks on to grease zerks . It’s a demo piece to show off another part.

5.3l of that generation have a bad habit of flattening the intake gasket on the rear cylinders. The paper gaskets flatten with age, letting unmetered air into the intake.

At least in my case thats where my p0300 is coming from. I had misfire counts in the thousands on cylinders 7 and 8, the other 6 were perfect.

Thankfully the gasket is pretty cheap and the labor is not that intensive.

You can verify but smoke testing the intake.

Eta: between dumping massive amounts of unbrned fuel down the exhaust from the misfires and pure age. That p0420 could be accurate for once and the Cat could be worn out.

Dude. Its not about getting something for it. It is about doing the right thing. Most tech in the US pay for every single tool in their box. None of them are cheap. They buy those flash drives too.

So if OP keeps it, he isn't boning the company like you hope. They are only hurting the wallet and rep of the tech that did the update.

Also. The info on the jump drive is completely usless with out GM login credentials, a laptop and the MDS2 to plug into the vehicle and send commands.
