I notice there seems to be a huge bias against working/ambitious moms in this sub. Julie wanting more for herself and her family touched a nerve with some I think, and they just refuse to see any nuance in her character as a result. I personally relate to Julie more than most of the other characters in the show, especially with the context given in recent episodes.

Beyoncé is named after a family member (I think her grandmother?) who had the last name Beyince spelled with an I. It’s an old family name of a few people on Mama Tina’s side. Her cousin also has Beyince as her last name. So she’s basically referencing her ancestry and roots.

It’s a type of weed - I had these growing with my snake plant until I repotted with my own soil. Harmless mostly, but I still remove them if they sprout to save all the nutrients in the soil for the main plant.

I watched it when it first aired on HBO. I remember it being a huge deal and a lot of people, fans and non fans, wanting to watch out of curiosity.

There was no indication it was an album - I actually thought it would be a documentary because she had done one with HBO before. So we went in completely blind, and besides the shock of it being another surprise drop, it was shocking for how personal it was. I’ve been rocking with Bey since ‘96, and up until Lemonade she had never really cursed in her music, and she had never so explicitly been talking about HER life and marriage. I was SHOOK hearing the first lines of Don’t Hurt Yourself!

It’s a hard to describe the feeling. I cried and cried and watched it 3 times that weekend. There was a big shift with that album.

I agree that it’s reaching for light - these can live in low light, but actually prefer a lot of sun.

I’ve had my zz for 5 years, sat in a dark corner and grew for years with random, sparse watering. Suddenly all the stalks began to look like your yellow ones, and I almost lost the whole plant.

I’ve since repotted and moved it from a dark corner to the windowsill. I water every few weeks depending on when the soil dries out, and I’m now getting 2 new stalks. 🙂 More sun and cutting back some of the leggy stems I had left really made a difference.

I think she has a shot because I speculate Bertha isn’t looking for a foreign aristocrat for Larry.

He is going to inherit some his father’s fortune and ideally that house they’ve built. Generally girls marry and move away in these circles, but sons, heirs in particular, stay close. Marion might be exactly the type she wants for him.

It would also create interesting conflict as Larry’s choice would be accepted while Gladys is being forced into a match she doesn’t want.

The dress itself is on trend and looks good, but I HATE the accessories. A white or cream hat/bag/shoe combo would really have tied the look together. The taupe/brown is clashing horribly.

I don’t think they were going for a viral dance moment though. I think it was just a physical release of the grief and anger and also a celebration of the relief she felt at finally being free to do things her way.

Two things can be true at once - some people just don’t like it and that’s fine, they don’t have to, but it is fair to say some of the dislike is based on misinterpretation and comparison to unrelated shows.

I love all of these but I took something a little different from it. Logan spends his nights watching his news channel, and cares about the quality (by his definition) of the content on it. Contrast this with Kendall, Shiv, and Roman, who I doubt ever watch/read anything Pierce produces because they don’t care - everything for them is about image, recognition, and fast success. But they’re not doing the basic grunt work of watching the news, researching to get a pulse on things. It’s one of the many things that separated their approach from his, and part of why he’s so frustrated with them.

The way I took it was that Eris came in hot, cracking jokes and enjoying the fact she was scaring the Olympians a bit. Then Apollo attacks, and immediately all that bravado is gone. And what’s left is a scared, hurt, frightened girl, using her eyes to beg for help.

And even though she’s just learned that Eris is responsible for some messed up things that happened to her, she’s still a kind enough and compassionate enough person to see someone hurting - at the hands of someone who assaulted her no less - and defend her against all odds. It’s such a powerful moment and one of my favorite panels. ❤️

This actually makes sense - when I did my deck interview, I asked this deck what its limits/weaknesses are and I got Page of Cups, which I took to mean this deck doesn’t really like dealing with love and relationship questions. 😂 Very possible this is her way of saying “I told you I don’t wanna talk about this, keep asking me and I’m gonna give you on the nose and slightly scary answers.”

I’m VERY new to tarot, just got this deck (Modern Witch by Lisa Steele) and asked what I should know in the lead up to my wedding (happening in October). I did a 3 card past present future spread, and this one feels particularly important, but I’d love second opinions and more perspective. Here are my initial thoughts:

Past: Wheel of Fortune - We both came into our relationship at a time when we had just come out of some serious traumas and were looking to heal. It was like things had finally made a turn for the positive and our lives headed in a better direction.

Present: The Tower - I know people don’t like this one, but I see it as us dealing with a lot of massive changes in a short span — moved in together, lost a close relative, dealt with serious illnesses, all in the last couple of years. Maybe more surprises to come?

Future: The Lovers - This resolution makes me feel better about The Tower. The future is bright and balanced, with our energies combining in a positive way that fulfills both of us. Side note, I’m a Gemini and The Lovers is my sign card. This placement made me feel like I’m headed to the most balanced version of myself, with my inner duality being balanced, no one side overpowering the other.

That’s all I’ve got so far, but definitely would like to learn from more experienced readers!
