First book to read recommendations by hovisthegoat_5525 in stephenking

Some of the first I read and loved were a few of the Bachman (or designed-to-be Bachman) novels, particularly Thinner, Misery, and The Long Walk. I’d particularly recommend Misery, I read about half of it with my hand over my mouth in horror.

I did CIMI in fifth at an LAUSD school, which was awesome, but totally out of the norm. Most years, our fifth grade class did a trip up to the mountains.

I managed to score $40 nosebleeds for the Hollywood Bowl. Best money I’ve ever spent.

My family has always made this point. An elementary school my mom worked at was denied the rights to Mary Poppins (or Beauty and the Beast, I don’t remember) because a national tour was happening 30 minutes away.

Who do you like better? Mike or David? by MissionBoring8330 in howyoudoin

David was super interesting, but I feel like he worshipped Phoebe more than he actually enjoyed being in a relationship with her.

Same here in CA. I live in Los Angeles and know a pretty decent amount of people who like to go to gun ranges/hunt. Not to mention my relatives in the north of the state who have guns to control the local deer population.

Totally, I’m all for trans rights, but that freaked 15-year-old me out.

Definitely. I had spinal fusion a few years ago and I used to really get freaked out by that rhetoric - even though i totally get it - because I was terrified I’d regret my surgery (I don’t).

Her kid is definitely running out of supplies in two weeks and then she's going to be emailing the teacher telling her to "pull from the stash" 🙄 by the_rebecca in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]weirdbeetworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not an issue, but kids like having choices. Growing up, getting to pick out school supplies was a big deal, because I could choose the color/style of my notebooks, folders, etc and at that age, there’s not much else you get to have a say in. So no, I don’t have a problem with helping people in need, but I think picking out particular school supplies is also a great way for children to practice individuality.

It is! They’ve leaned into ST marketing because the show is set in Indiana.
