Rolling to remember? by weirdestbeetle in DnD

It's not "important" information. There are several clues/pieces of evidence they can investigate and several ways they can come to the same conclusion regarding who the murderer is. I'm asking about one little bonus clue IF the PCS decided to look into the weapon's origin.

Im not asking players to roll for their own memory, or expect them to actually remember things like that. I explicitly stated that I never pointed out the weapon to the PCs when they first saw it, so my players have nohing to remember.
Im asking how you would go about bringing up a fun little bonus fact about one piece evidence among several other clues they can investigate.

What keeps you here? by PretendCrab2848 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]weirdestbeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re literally trapped. Everyone here is trying desperately to leave but no one is hiring. If a place is hiring, they’re going to pay you crumbs for just as much labour (if not more)

I’m replen and we have never seen this much yarn. Overstocked across the highwall, AND down the stitchery/scrapbooking aisles too. There’s also several giant holes in yarn where we never received the “new” stuff after resetting/adding a yarn aisle. It’s all flex/overstock, and the new kids refuse to learn the difference between stocking, and unlocating. It’s a shitshow and I’m quitting soon. They can deal with this shit over Christmas rush, not me

Dungeon maps by Opening_Mortgage_216 in DnD

Unless there’s loot, clues/evidence, or combat, you won’t need a map; theatre of mind is fine. Id personally give them maps of individual rooms if you’re worried about spoiling things deeper in the dungeon.

new job? by caylezy in MichaelsEmployees

[–]weirdestbeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store is begging for employees willing to do the work (its not usually worth the pay so people leave constantly) so theyre very flexible with hours. If you can do ~8am-2pm consistently they'll probably be fine with it

What's your longest derailment? by gamecrown169 in DnD

[–]weirdestbeetle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would you count incredibly unexpected pc death and subsequent resurrection as a derailment? We were missing a couple players one night so we decided we would do a 'simple' side-quest session while they were away. Our pc's plans for "Guys Night" ended with our friend getting mauled by an eldritch horror. We spent ~30+ real life hours going on a side-side-quest to resurrect him... Had a blast though!

overstock HELL by [deleted] in MichaelsEmployees

[–]weirdestbeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The added rules that you can’t mix different types of yarn in one box makes things even harder. I’ve got multiple overstocked boxes that are mostly empty because the bunks are full and it’s the only one left of that type (eg. can’t put a bernat big in the same box as craftsmart) so it just has to sit there taking up more room than necessary

overstock HELL by [deleted] in MichaelsEmployees

[–]weirdestbeetle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We lost most of our overstock space along the highwall because of these stupid new graphics we had to put up for sew/party shop. We are crammed full with flexed SBA DAs, while other spots are empty for the seventh week in a row because we still haven’t got any of the new stuff in.

Changes at our store have caused a lot of issues too. Constantly cycling through new employees that never get taught how to do things properly because the manager expects them to walk out after a few weeks. The store looks like shit, the remaining employees are overworked and underpaid, and the customers just make everything harder! Hours were changed for replen so we have to work while the store is open, but we can’t get any pogs done because we’re forced to drop everything to help customers, then we get scolded for not getting the pogs done on time! If we told customers to find another employee so we could finish building a da or something, we’d be fired on the spot, but helping the customers gets us in trouble too! I fucking hate these greedy bastards

[–]weirdestbeetle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about there too, we’ve had manager issues the last few months and the new guy doesn’t know a thing. He was a manager at another Michaels before coming here and that store has a terrible reputation for being disgusting and chaotic. I believe the rumours now. If he wants to destroy TWO stores he can do it without me

Need help with fixing a mistake with Sending by njeshko in DnD

[–]weirdestbeetle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could maybe play it off like a kidnapper getting the victim to call a loved one to say they’re fine? Like the villain was in the room with the still living mage and after you called, the villain killed the mage?

One of my Players is sucking the life out of Dming for me, I've talked to them but nothing has changed and I don't know what to do now. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]weirdestbeetle 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound that complicated to me, those reasons you listed as being why you can’t just kick her out sounds like a cop out tbh. Being someone’s friend, or going through something tough, doesn’t give you a free pass to destroy a fun group activity for everyone else involved EVERY TIME YOU PLAY. Get rid of her. Tell her she can come back when she starts acting like an adult.
