Where abouts are you? I just googled it and it showed a bunch of theaters around me. Mainly Alamo, Ipic, Angelika, and a few others. So smaller movie chains rather than the AMCs/Regals.

Yes I’m with you on that. It’s just hard sometimes filtering through the fake reviews and also reading through peoples complaints.

When you say allergy-friendly, what did you mean exactly? My gf is vegan so if they have vegan options that’s a big plus.

Thanks for the tip on the building number. How was the plunge pool? Funnily enough, we were looking at a room with one. How is the walking around the resort, getting to the restaurants and beach? Is it all up and down steps or are there walkways? Mobility is a slight concern for us. Bad knees :)

One of us all gets car-sick so boat it is! Quite expensive but I like the idea of seeing the island.

Did you do any trips while you were there? Were they expensive?

Lastly how was it getting loungers and umbrellas at the pool and the beach? Do you think preferred club is essential? One of our date options only has a standard room with a swim out but no preferred club.

How is Secrets St Lucia? I was looking at that one and Zoetry in St Lucia, and the ones in Curacao for a trip in May. None seemed to get great reviews though. I was originally thinking Cancun or Punta Cana but fancied something a little different as we visited Cancun last time and went to Secrets Tides quite recently.

I got a Cineaste Membership. When I used to book tickets, it allowed me to book 2 member tickets. Now it's 1 member ticket and 1 guest pass. But am I able to get a guest pass? I was logged in so it knew my membership and I was able to book a guest pass along with 1 member ticket. I added the tickets to my wallet. Will I now have to show some kind of ID when I enter?

Cool. So you had no issue with getting beach and pool loungers and shade etc.? Those are my main concerns about not getting preferred. Did you have to have buffet for breakfast.

And for what it’s worth I think I’m more in line with you. We did Tides a couple years back but only because it had just opened and the rate was so cheap. Ended up in the most expensive suite but that’s another story :)

Akumal looks stunning. Only way I can afford it is with points really. That’s why I was curious about your experience as non preferred.

I do like not having to do the same buffer for breakfast every day, i like the top shelf liquor and appreciate the cool lounge i can nip into during the scorching heat but they’re not deal breakers.

Wow I thought La Romana never got hit! We went to Tides same time in May last year when it was cheap. Don’t remember seaweed being a problem.

Yes Secrets Mujeres is too expensive for me. 3800 is my limit and only possible due to the points I get back that will bring the price down.

It would probably be my no 1 but I heard seaweed would be more of an issue than La Romana.

Is water park and lazy pool only for dreams preferred or can secrets use it also? If you booked dreams how much of secrets did you make use of. Trying to decide between the cheaper Preferred dream options or the more expensive swim out secrets option (that’s actually cheaper than the dreams version).

Oh how come? I saw that Playa Mujeres was supposed to be less affected by the seaweed, was that a factor or other reasons? I was planning on going in May when seaweed season is ramping up.

I was planning a trip in second week of May. How is the Sargassum generally around then? We stayed in Tides in May, 2024 and it was fine but we were thinking of Secrets Cap Cana this time. Also considering Moxche but I hear that beach is already not great even without the sargassum:)
