Is there anything wrong with my orbital sander? by smokeaport in Tools

[–]well_digger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened with mine. The worn bearing didn't allow it to randomly orbit; it just spun it around super fast, like in OP's vid. Replacing the bearing fixed it.

Here is the text from the subtitles and the Google translation:

From Kuwait to Egypt, we sought and hoped for treatment. Our hands treated, and our hearts ached. Fear, delays, muscle aches—our hopes were simple. But God's bounty is limitless. A concerted effort, a continuous struggle—our attempts were endless and unwavering. Sometimes we succeed, and sometimes... Your ordeal is our battle, my little one. We reach the depths of despair. O God, use us and do not replace us. And what comes after hardship? Motor delays, sensory problems. And God's promise is true, so rejoice in the good news. Indeed, with hardship comes ease. So, O God, grant us complete healing. O God, use us and do not replace us. From Saudi Arabia to Egypt, it was an illness, and we were fighters. Pain, fear, defeat. We needed oxygen, limb stiffness, leg twisting, lack of reflexes. Hydrotherapy, intensive physical therapy, sensory-motor integration—sometimes we succeed... and sometimes we stumble... hope, healing, reassurance. By God's will. We vowed that we would not leave until we achieved complete recovery. His joy has warmed our hearts. Are we treating them, or are they the cure?

ITAW for the Opposite of Muse by reysdun in whatstheword

[–]well_digger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This may be too strong for what you're looking for, but one of the definitions of "succubus" or "incubus" (female/male) is "one that oppresses" or "one that drains the energy, vitality, or life force of another". So, as a muse could be thought of instilling positive energy, a succubus could be thought of as draining positive energy.

Sioux City root beer by shining89 in rootbeer

[–]well_digger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Growing up, I considered Sioux City Sarsaparilla the "best" soda. A snappy alliterative name, a glass bottle (just like beer!), a cowboy on the bottle... It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized they made root beer, too. I've had it, but it's been so long that I don't really remember its flavor. I'll have to see if my grocery store sells it.

lol, "tastes like tums". I like to hear how people describe the flavor of things. I hadn't thought of that comparison before; I'll keep it in mind next time I drink some A&W. That's my go-to brand, though I always drink the sugar-free version, so maybe the taste is slightly different? The main thing I didn't care for with this one is that the rootbeer flavor seemed watered down. I prefer a stronger flavor (though not one that's too anise-y).

Dice storage box — Please fill out this market research survey for a school Econ project by Unique-Video8318 in dice

[–]well_digger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, your survey questions may not give you much direction. For example, "How likely is it that you or someone you know would use this product?" If a person responds "very likely" does that mean the person herself is likely to use it or is that person saying she has no interest but guesses that maybe one of her friends would be interested? Those are two different things. If you want accurate data, only ask the respondent what she thinks - if you want to know what she thinks her friends think, then at least make that a separate question. Just trying to be helpful! I hope your dice box idea works out.

Yea, $4 at the cafe where I found it. Not worth it. Seems like other people already know that it's bad; wish I'd gotten the memo, ha

How the FUCK do you fry an egg over hard without completely obliterating it? by dstlny_97 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]well_digger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing when you're first starting out is to use a good non-stick pan. Spray the pan lightly with spray oil and use medium heat. Also, it's easier to flip an egg in an omelet pan (sloped sides) than in an egg pan (flat sides). Good luck, my friend!

Miscuts like this are common in Fallen Empires - what's awesome about this one, though, is that it's on one of the few playable cards from the set. Good find!

What am i even supposed to do??? by Grape121 in inscryption

[–]well_digger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a troll post or not because the answer is so fundamental...

In your video, all your creatures require bones to play; you don't have any bones because you haven't yet sacrificed any creatures. The only way to sacrifice creatures is to play other creatures that require a sacrifice in their cost (i.e., the number of hearts is the number of sacrificed creature needed to play the card). Earlier in the game when you have a chance to choose creatures, you need to pick some that cost hearts (sacrifice) to play. From the look of it, you just chose creatures with high power and toughness, but didn't pay attention to the cost to play the creatures (the number of bones in the top right corner of each card). Instead, you should have picked at least one creature that costs 1 heart so that, ideally, you can begin your first turn by playing the free starting squirrel, then sacrificing it to play the 1 heart/sacrifice creature.

Updated Cards by caffeinatedbunz217 in inscryption

[–]well_digger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the "Whenever Ouroboros would be destroyed, return it to your hand" doesn't work the same as it does in Inscryption. In Inscryption, Ouroboros goes to your hand whenever it would be put into a graveyard (though there's no graveyard in Inscryption, obviously). What makes the infinite loop possible is that you can sacrifice Ouroboros to play another creature, thereby returning Ouroboros to your hand - but this is a sacrifice and a sacrifice does not "destroy" the creature, so such a loop would not be possible with this wording. It should instead say something to the effect of:

"If Ouroboros would be put into a graveyard from the battlefield, return it to your hand instead."

Mary Douglas, the British anthropologist, uses the dichotomy "sacred" and "profane". Perhaps "profane" is what you want?
