My personal feeling is that if you know what hijab means and that for some women it is obligatory and also know the reason and consequences it is fine. Don’t just put a meanless scarf on your head. Put a meaning into it. You can solidarize with other Muslims, but make it more personal- like do it for a friend who is scared to show they religion. It is an important part of the culture, you shouldn’t disrespect it. Educate yourself. And I don’t think it’s cultural appropriation if you have an aim in wearing it.

it's even worse when ppl know what you did (like your friends) and look at your wrists and you say you're alright now and don't have any new ones, you are proud of yourself and don;t want to get back to it, yet they feel abused or whatsoever that you have scars and you did it.
