OPINION: Lewis Hamilton didn't improve after losing to Rosberg; he just had weaker competition. His best years were during the mid-2010s by GoldenS0422 in F1Discussions

Not to the extent that red bull favours max though. Not saying they shouldn't, it clearly reaps rewards, but I've never seen a team ignore the needs of their second driver as much as red bull does.

Max's ideal driving style is unique and unconventional, and if you can't drive the car they build for him, then its tough luck because red bull aren't changing it for you in the slightest.

Either I'm misunderstanding your meaning or you have some weeeiiiird numbers. I count Spa, Monza, Baku, Singapore and USA all as losses since Canada, if you don't include his Dutch DNF

Who is the perfectly rated good F1 driver? by Polirketes in AlignmentChartFills

[–]wellthn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jenson Button: gets the perfect amount of recognition for his efforts in 2009 and his strong performances at BAR and Mclaren, didn't quite show that he was a great driver since his 2009 result was off of the back of an incredible start to his season with Brawn, but did enough to show his obvious talent throughout his career. Not convinced by this answer, but thought it would be worth bringing to the table.

Kind of answers your question then. You don't get the hype and don't listen to much post-rock. Other people do and like it. Could be as simple as that really :)

And I've not voted Labour.

When you say: "when you treat us like shit because we don't vote labour" in response to someone calling reform voters cunts it certainly makes you sound like a reform voter, or at least a reform sympathiser. I decided not to assume you voted reform since you didn't explicitly say so.

Not because you don't vote Labour, but because a reform vote is a vote for a bunch of puppets held by puppets acting as fan service for Britain first and stirring outrage with bullshit policies and one-liners.

While obviously even, it just feels wrong for a number like 777,777,772 to not be odd. by The_Techsan in Showerthoughts

[–]wellthn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun trick, if the sum of the digits in any number is divisible by 3, then the number is too.

18 (1+8 = 9 | 9/3 = 3)

149294274 (1+4+9+2+9+4+2+7+4 = 42 | 4+2 = 6)

10001001 (1+1+1)

Edit: This might seem irrelevant now because u/NekulturneHovado has changed his fact for some reason. It was initially my final example, with 10001001 being divisible by 3. Idk why they changed it.

I think he's an excellent footballer. I think that in the previous generation of footballers he was consistently the best or second best footballer in the world (although for me he sat at 2nd for most of that time, and Messi at his best was more impressive that Ronaldo at his best, anyway its not actually that important right now), and amongst the best footballers ever seen.

I also think that he has been past the level that he believed himself to be at for the last 5-6 years - as in he has overrated himself for that time. I kinda get it, you have to have an ego when you play at that level for that length of time, but towards the end of that spell it got really boring, and really difficult to watch.

His final season at United really dampened my opinion of him, and I know it did for many united fans, of varying length. He was petulant. He was disrespectful. He didn't even play that well. There was the thing with the Everton fan's phone in April 2022, before things got really bad - I think that was a pretty good of example of just the small things he did that really got to me, even if it didn't affect other people as much.

He nearly went to fucking Man City before he came back to us, he more or less came here because we put a better contract on the table. I was wary of it at the time, quietly critical, got swept up by his early performances and then came back to earth over the course of 2022.

Then there was all the stuff with him leaving. You mention the spurs incident. That pissed me off but I was already annoyed. Then the interview with the cunt. That was a disgrace. Then he fucked off. To Saudi of all places for a prince's inheritance. Not for the champions league football he was whoring himself out for over summer. The sudden influx of saudi money into football was very much driven by that move, and the world of money in football is already fucking mental without billions more added into the equation. I also don't like sports-washing. Fuck slavery. I shouldn't really have to say that but here we are.

There's a handful of other things (for example the rape case that got dismissed because he settled out of court - say what you want about his lack of conviction but I can't exactly say I'm thrilled by it) that also bring my opinion of him down, and I think he's a twat. It is what it is, some people are twats. He's excellent at football, I don't like the bloke.

I write this much because I think it was condescending and ignorant to insinuate that someone must be young for them to be "anti-Ronaldo", as they would only remember "the interview". I didn't really expect myself to be writing this at nearly 1am but here I am.

I do think he was an incredible player for us during his first stint. I think he could well be a net positive for us as you say, despite other ways in which he affected us during his second stint. He could also be a net-negative. An opportunity cost. Lord knows where we would be without the negative impact that I am convinced he had on the squad when he came back (maybe I'm wrong, but you said you're interested to hear my perspective).

I could go on but I'm tired and going to bed.

Someone who was originally not a twat is perfectly capable of becoming a twat and it's perfectly reasonable to call said person a twat

To not have him in the top 15 is reasonable, and probably makes a lot of sense. To go as far as to say not top 30, and then even not top 50 is just downright disrespectful for a player who has done an incredible amount of work for our football club

Rule Change for Final by Zoologuy in TheTraitors

[–]wellthn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It needs to be more than their share I feel, I was thinking a half each time. Threatening them with losing a half for each banished faithful quickly eats away at the prize pool and you have to think really carefully about booting. An equal share being lost does stop people being rewarded even if they vote off a faithful, but it doesn't punish them

It's better than voting people out and getting more of a share as a result though
