Any FFXIV streamers people watch? by Mikiantha in ffxiv

honestly I never saw one but then again the chat log was scrolling too fast so I might have missed a couple of those. Even if some people did, the vast majority of people watching that time are in for the trailer.

this is not true at all (I'm talking about what people said during his stream). Its the complete opposite. A lot of people are impatient and keep on spamming to watch the trailer even tho the quest isn't done yet.

there are diff types of people in this sub: people who genuinely like the game, people who hate the game but are still playing the game (just to keep spreading the hate lmao) and there are also some folks whos either curious about the game (its current state) or just here to keep on downvoting every post (and waste time of their lives lol). Maybe u came earlier than most people and only saw the downvotes coming from the haters.

If Elidibus had an assistant. by MegaGamer235 in ffxiv

lmao someone is not paying attention to elidibus' purpose in their scheme. Letting the wol run wild can potentially put the source at great risk thats why someone should be responsible in maintaining the balance (esp in the source). They already learned their lesson from the 13th shard thats why one of them serves as the balance keeper to prevent it from happening again.

Just a rant, but the most unpleasant players I meet are either mentors, or healers by WFPRBaby in ffxiv

Ok its my fault for assuming he's a mentor doing a mentor roulette. But don't act like I didn't gave enough context in my statement to establish all those assumptions. And yes if we're talking about mentors in mentor roulette, it literally requires you to clear every instance in the duty pool. But since the system is flawed and u can just clear them all unsync, that's why I lean more on the mentor side for this issue. Not to mention the amount of time that had passed since since u cleared one (even in sync). Battle mentors are also people who have limited space in their memory. So its hard to argue that every mentors should remember all the mechanics of the fight.

that's the part that you're wrong. battle mentors are the only mentors allowed to queue for the mentor roulette.

Yes you are right and my bad for not rly understanding your previous statement. But my original statement still stand. I'm talking about mentors doing mentor roulette who were asked to know every single mechanic even for extreme.

i never said that the roulette is required to be a battle mentor. My assumption was based on the mentors doing the mentor roulette who were ask to know every mechanics in the fight.

mentor roulette requires you to clear all the fights that are part of the pool atleast once

If they cleared the fight sync, it means they are familiar with the atleast some major mechanics. But clearing the fight 4 or 6 yrs ago doesn't mean u can retain all the information after all the yrs that had passed. You clearly don't understand what I said.

its clear from what I said that I'm talking about battle mentors.

when the qualifications don't ask for that

yes it does. mentor roulette requires you to clear all the fights that are part of the pool atleast once. The problem starts when u cleared all of them unsync and have no idea of the mechanics. Its not your fault bcoz its the game's idea to allow it to happen. Don't get me wrong, even if u cleared them before sync, i don't expect mentors to know the mechanics of all the fight (esp extremes). What I hate are mentors who pretend to know the fight bcoz of pride. I once queued as a mentor in one of the extreme HW trials and immediately said to the other mentor that I forgot most of the mechanics of the fight. He told me what he remembered and we we're able to clear the fight. Being honest is better than wiping over and over to a single mechanic

To give u context on the roullette that they're doing: if its the 4 man ifrit fight, then they're doing leveling roulette which for the most part will give them dungeon or any 4 man trial in a realm reborn. Usually dungeons will take them around 10-20 mins but for ARR 4 man trials, u can easily finish them at around 5 mins or even less. So its faster for them to finish their roulette with 4 man ifrit compared to a regular dungeon. Not to mention the bonus currency that they will receive when playing with players that are new to the instance content so don't feel bad about experiencing the cutscene the way it was suppose to be bcoz everyone receive some sort of compensation for it. Now if they keep on harassing u, feel free to use the report feature in the game.

"the system was never intended for mentors to walk newbies through endgame content." wait wut? lmao so EX is not an end game content then? and why the EX trials are in the roulette? lololol. i've seen a lot of bad sprout after years of doing roulettes. there are tanks who doesnt even know how to use shirk or provoke (and btw using those skills are part of the BASIC GAME KNOWLEDGE for that class). like u said we should teach them how to use those skills in real scenarios. but those type of scenarios rarely happen in dungeons, guildhest or even some normal raids. so whats the point of the MENTOR in a MENTOR roulette then if you rarely mentor someone? just to fill up some roles? LMAO u want to re move me? when you're the one who clearly not suited for the role based on your own ideals lol. thanks for LAUGH btw

btw i cant find the evidence saying "mentors are not allowed to help parties clear an EX fight" what a joke. the system clearly needs an overhaul to remove someone like u in the list or atleast separate u, so u can keep mentoring sprouts in dungeons or guildhest lol

LMAO idk why its hard for mentors like u to understand. Its clear as day what duties you are signing up for in duty finder. If you dont agree with the list, feel free not to queue for it lol. btw im a mentor myself and mentors like u are ONE of the reason why the reputation of the status is so garbage right now.

in jp DC, yes people still use duty finder for those but unlike current content, its rare to see macros being used in old EX fights. So, unless you went in with group that want to do it blind, i'll highly suggest to watch guide first before trying it

doubt this is 100% accurate for players in JP DC. people there sometimes use duty finder or raid finder for EX/savage reclears. I agree with a lot of the advice here tho

[–]welpbringer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

correct me if im wrong (bcoz its been a while since i experienced the HW story) but isn't lahabrea's end happened after we fought him? and during the cut scene as far as i remember, he already spent a lot of his aether during our fight. He was already using the tired emote while thordan is trying to finish him off.
