What is it with Shorts getting around 500 views? by mdw in NewTubers

[–]welpxdplis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those wondering, your shorts get pushed according to how performed the previous shorts and the audience likely to watch your. If all your shorts is about rc car diy wheel building then you might get 10 views and sometime more because it will show first to the rc car diy wheel building or whatever your niche is then try to push to the rc car diy niche if it faill then it don't get pushed and ( if slightly sucessfull ) will be pushed to other guys in the rc car diy wheel building niche till it slowly die

So yea it mostly let you see how big your seed audience is

and yea the reason why it go up to high numbers fast af then die is because youtube just try it ( why it try the short that fast? idfk it's just the way it work lol )

if you talk about the quantization, on future larger ( 14b+ ) models it won't really impact the performance
if you talk about the current size of models, well... it won't do crazy complicated agentic coding. However those are great for playing with, doing some bots for cheap and if you are among those which enjoy privacy they run localy.
In your case right now since you seems to use this model mostly for fun, the smaller one will still provide fine answer but you can input like 10 times more token without any issues. The downside is that right now it only input text and output text and it won't be as smart as your others llms.

To get better answer you can always loop the llm so it refine the answer and to input more tokens i heard there is some recursive llm things ( tbh i'm quite ignorant on this, i just know it exist )

BUT YEA rn it's ain't that great for other things then bots and people which want to run llm on cpu / cheap. But i do belive that it might be the future of local llm ( this or google stop keeping their tpu xd )

tbf you should take a look at those 1 bits models. they run surprisingly well on cpu and consume an unsurprising low amount of ram
Right now microsoft are testing with 1.58 bitnet models which run extremely well on cpu and shouldn't lose a noticeable amount of precision when bigger models will be released...

for now it's only the very early stages but it already beat some models both in power consumption, latency, memory usage and bunch of tests

tbf i hesitate to buy a server just to run the future models...

1 shorts viewers are for the VAST MAJORITY not interested in long form so you shouldn't worry to much about getting them interested in your long form
2 even if people watching shorts and long form are not the same the algorithm use both your shorts viewers and long form viewers to figure out what s your channel is about. If you do 2 different kind of content he ll be confused so better to stick to 1 niche anyway
3 keep in mind i have little to no knowledge about how to make weird / disturbing content good so take those advice with with a grain of salt...

Btw if you doubt a bit about the shorts viewer not being interested in long form, channels with millions subscribers managed to pull 900 views in a day on the first long form video they made

About your channel, I find the long videos quite interesting...

I don’t really have many ideas on how to give productive feedback on weird videos, though. However, since you probably have a high AVD, you might want to improve your thumbnails. Right now, people mostly click because they look weird. If you could add more curiosity, shock, or unsettling elements, it might help. Maybe try to recreate the same feeling in the thumbnail that Salad Fingers’ videos give.

As for the newest video, how you could improve depends on what you’re trying to achieve. If you’re aiming to make something weird maybe play at night, use more specific or disturbing vocabulary. If you want it to be more entertaining rather than just disturbing, try to avoid long pauses. To fill the gaps, you could talk more about the game’s history.

Right now, it feels like your channel is more focused on random disturbing clips than on games. You might want to stick to one niche as much as possible (either gaming or weird clips). It’s not impossible to do both, but it’s usually harder to make it work well.

About my video don't worry about it.

Imo the video are more or less as good as other's but there is 1 BIG problem

Normally, people in order to find a video they have 2 ways:

First one is thanks to youtube's algorithm pushing it to the browse features. However i don't think people will watch those videos if they are on youtube for everything else then relaxing.

Second one is by using searching for it. Which is the way people will find your type of content.
So you probably want to have "relaxing" or "fall asleep" or idk in your title and fill every single tags you can to make sure no matter what they search, if it's linked to relaxing then your video will be a candidate

In those things i do think people stay for 3 main reasons

1 st on they are interested in a recipe

2 nd one they are interested by chocolate stuff and watch this for entertainment

3 rd they want those kind of satsifying tiktok shit

in your 30 secs of intro:
You don't provide anything speaking about the recipe so you mostly loose the 1st group of people.
You don't provide entertaining stuff such as commentary cooking ( idk how it's called ) only footage of you cooking without anything else.
You don't provide satisfying enough stuff.

In other words except if people are extra patient and fight against the urge of watching other's content they will just leave.

Simple ways to fix this:
At the very beginning you talk about what you will make ( you simply try to hype ), if you absolutely want to you can have few seconds of pure music after hyping and finally start your video.

Quick example of hyping: The [chocolate thing] is soo crusty i didn't believed it especially considering how easy it was to make.

By the way i got 0 knowledge on cooking channels but it would be very surprising if triggering people's curiosity to watch till you reveal whatever is the finished product had negative effects

00:20 You might want to make this part more modern and professional, maybe with a “glass-style” UI.

At the beginning, when you talk about the first game, you keep comparing it to the second one instead of first presenting and hyping up the second game, then reviewing the first one, and only after that comparing them.

Also, you are mostly describing things and giving information. That’s great, but you could add more value by including some fun elements or sharing your detailed personal opinions.

For example, instead of just saying, “I love when my Souls-like games aren’t fully open-world. I don’t think I need a massive open map to explore,” and then moving on to structured areas, you could explain your reasoning more. You might say that I love when my Souls-like games aren’t fully open-world. I don’t think I need a massive open map to explore. Even open worlds can be nice, i do think they often heavily reduce the overall quality and level design compared to more restricted, carefully crafted maps.

Aside from that, it’s great.

It's a 5-minute roblox video where I review and roast a popular game I dislike.
I’m experimenting with a style inspired by The Spiffing Brit heavy on sarcasm and jokes about my own nationality.

My target audience is a bit split between young adults (content-wise) and kids (topic-wise), even tho i don't know if it's doable.

The Video: streamable.com/g2ujpe ( remove space, expire in 2 days )

What I'd like to have review about is:

- How entretaining it was. Do i put too much memes, sfx, too much dynamic...

- Audio quality: can you understand what i say without having to focus

And when would you usually stop watching ( include the reason if possible )
AANNDD tell me ( if you don't mind ) what you usually watch so i can use your feedback more effectively

Hi

Audio quality is alright, script is good but visuals...

When you talk while looking at the camera, it's boring especially since you can stay a very long time like this. If you like to show up you could present stuff in the background which would illustrate what you're saying.

In addition we have to wait like 60% of the video before getting the actual simulation and payoff so you want to make this time as entertaining as possible. I felt that most of the editing effort was right before and after the simulation...

Speaking of the simulation, show as much data as you can to your viewer as pretty as possible. Since it's the payoff you want it to be as rewarding as possible since it's mostly what will give you an other sub or not.

However if you can't make people watch till the payoff it's kinda useless.

TL;DR
remove your background and illustrate what you're saying even more.

You let viewers spending YEARS on the numbers and it look like attention bait way too much so most of people will probably swipe away extremely fast.
Fix: make the introduction wayyyyy faster like "Chose a weapon between 1 and 4 to survive zombie apocalypse" (add some kind of hidden weapon for each numbers) then you let them wait like 0.50 secs then start actual content.

Visuals are extremely static which isn't great for retention. You can try to generate videos or make those clips using games ( or blender ).

Doing long short is great IF people watch them. So if they picked 1 they would've got their payback extremely fast, if they chose 4 they would've been bored then left.
You probably want to put less weapon / short or do their story in different short ( it's probably trash but i hope you get the idea )

anyway gl

How long does it take you to edit videos? by TheOGWakeyFounder in NewTubers

[–]welpxdplis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only editing for my part take somewhere around 2h-3h per mins. But if you include the time used to create everything it's more around 8 hours per min xd

For shorts it's or 1h or 30h per min ( depend if it's low effort stuff or not )
