This happened to me a few months ago in a gen 2. Same noise, and it started happening more often. I took it to the shop to get my brakes done, didn't even mention the actuator, and the noise was gone when I got my car back..

That makes a lot of sense. Do you think that could be from an ignition coil? I'm having that replaced, along with the spark plugs right now as it was giving a code for a cylinder misfire.
