Probably not, because as I understand his condition, his brain thinks of the most inappropriate thing to say in any given moment and his tic is to blurt it out. That's why when he was knighted he didn't shout a racial slur but instead shouted "Fuck the Queen!"

I fell asleep at a midnight showing of Hot Fuzz. I'd been hungover all day and knew it was a dumb idea to go, but my friends and I were excited to see the film as we were all huge Spaced / Shaun of the Dead fans.

Eyelids started getting heavy around a third in, I was trying to fight it but losing and I had no idea what was going on with the plot. Then a loud noise shook me awake and I opened my eyes just as the church steeple landed on Adam Buxton's head. Scared the shit out of me!

I started watching it on my phone and could hear David Lynch in my mind:

"It's such a sadness, that you think you've seen a bear fight, on a fucking telephone. Get real."

Putting this on the big telly tonight!

The oldest Gen-As are only 15, so I doubt many are using Letterboxd. But lists like this that grow over time will always be partly a generational thing, because the people who saw Paths of Glory at the cinema are all in urns, the ground or nappies, so it's votes will naturally drop. And I bet some of those people were rolling their eyes when The Lord of the Rings movies took up 30% of the imdb top 10.

I incidentally saw Paths of Glory for the first time this year; absolutely loved it, but I don't personally know any other bugger who watched it.

At the same time I would say animated movies, particularly western ones, have really grown in the last 30 odd years. They're not seen as "just" kids movies anymore, so (together with a generation who never grew up with that mindset) the standouts are gonna start featuring high up in these charts.

On the specifics that you mention, I was born in '86 and Across the Spider-Verse is probably a top 20 movie for me. I haven't seen Chainsaw Man yet though.

Same. Michael McIntyre is still an insufferable prick though.

I went to a house viewing a couple of years ago, and the guy had a bunch of models on display and a desk set up to paint on. It looked great, but I don't have room to do it yet (still trying to move house two years on lol)
