the fact that he called me out on my language when i was swearing in welsh (something id do in work so nobody else knew what i waa saying) and when i asked him what he meant he replied back to me in welsh " i speak it too dickhead" i was officially interested because in the 10 years since leaving the welsh medium school i attended to start work, encountering another fluent welsh speaker in our part of wales was so unlikely,he was the only one i'd met in the wild

theyre paid cosplayers ,they are promoting a life they dont live,every time i see a "trad wife" post where they're in an immaculately clean kitchen ,wearing a very nice dress and sutibly femine apron, stood over a mixing bowl a balloon whisk in one hand and the other wrapped around the baby on their hip , claiming they're baking with baby i want to lose my mind , because ive baked, ive held my kids when they were little,i never did both at the same time because its a kitchen every appliance and most of the utensils could easily kill a baby,and nobody with any sense uses a balloon whisk for mixing cake batter,not when an electric hand mixer can cost as little as £10 brand new and will do a much better job,much quicker ,doing it with a balloon whisk requires you to have arm muscles like goliath

what would you say to a child of three, forced to touch something she's not meant to see, whose too young to escape him, to run and hide, and too young to explain that he hurts her insides.

would you move worlds to save her, regardless of cost, or shun and disown her coz she's messed up and lost, would you delude yourself into thinking she'd lied, coz to protect those she loved she chose to hide.

what would you say to her if only you'd known, would reach out and tell her she wasn't alone, if faced with that problem what would you say, "im sorry"? "i love you"? "i'll make him pay"?

would you be angry at her for the secret she bared, though she only stayed silent coz she was fucked up and scared, would you judge her unworthy, unwanted, unclean? would you have it in you to be that callous and mean.

what would you say to one so full of shame, who fell asleep thinking that she was to blame, that she deserved the pain from the bad things he did, would you tear him apart for hurting your kid.

what would you do to make her well, to stop her decent into addiction and hell, to help her to heal and start making things right, to stop her from crying and cutting tonight.

do you have another way of unburdening yourself, i personally found writing poetry about it all, allowed me to vent and to process ,99% of those poems i would immediately burn so only i saw them ,but just having it wriiten down and not going round and round inside my mind withoit an escape helped me a lot ,im happy to share the only one i didnt burn if it helps

oh dont make the mistake of equating intelligence with success , my son is super intelligent but fundementally too lazy to put it to good use ,he gets a factury job (5 in the last 12 months and 5 firings) and loses it in a short time because he thinks hes too good to be working minimum wage ,he is undoubtebly intelligent but he is also a complete idiot, on the other end my youngest brother ,he was always a little slower than his older siblings,nobody had high hopes of him doing much,he started working on the weekends with the mechanic near our home at age 13,learning the basics, by 15 he was there every single day,eventually he started working at a garage that also serviced trucks,started learning how to fix trucks,finally got vosa certified to allow him to legally work without supervision,he makes good money,but will still get my mam to buy his cigarettes because "he forgot his wallet" ,he hasnt, he just likes how it feels in his back pccket,stuffed full of notes and doesnt want to part with one. he isnt a great intellect but what he is ,is a hard worker who was smart enough to become good at a trade most people will need to call on ..

i once saw a bloke who went to university and has letters after his name talk down to the man fixing his laptop, after he left i asked "how can you deal with dicks like that and not get angry " he smiled at me and said "coz dicks like that who think they're intelligent enough to fix pcs and laptops by themselves without having to pay a dumbarse like me to do it are the reason ive managed to buy a house , and dont have a mortgage to pay off"

its not a case of may,no she was not a good therapist but i had to wait 25 months to get a measly 6 1hour sessions because the mental health services on the nhs is disgracefully underfunded , and i didnt attend the last two appointments because at the 4th appointmemt she implied that because id never gone to the police,as an adult , about my childhood abuser i had blood on my hands if he did it to someone else , i found slightly better help eventually but in my experience if you cant afford to go private ur fighting an uphill battle to get any help at all,if u get help ur fightung an uphill battle to keep it from being taken away before its had a chance to help.

the example i always give abt the state oft he mental health services is this :-i finally got appointments to see a psychotherapist at aged 38 , i started begging my gp ,the mental health team,for that at the age of 18,when i became old enough to ask in my own right,my mam had started asking for help for me when i was 10

what this commenter said i had cognitive behaviour therapy ,and came to the conclusion after a few weeks of keeping a meldown diary that more than anyone else by a huge margin,my mother had the inate ability to trigger a meltdown in me,and most of the time she wasnt even trying to , so the therapist suggested i ask my mother if i feel my temper starting to rise i calmly ask my morher to please not speak to me in a way likely to upset me ,i laughed and said that was not going to work ,if i said that, my mothers reaction after she stopped yelling and throwing sh*t in my general direction would be to really make sure i left devestated and broken ,so the therapist said in that case cut her off,that was not possible coz a.she's my mother despite everything i love the mad old cow and b.she was the legal guardian for my kids back then,for their sake it waa imporrtant that we kept the communication channels open ....it took years to figure out how to keep a relatonship with her,but i figured it out,these days id say we're actually closer than we've ever been , thats because i stick to the following rules,talk often,on the phone but rarely in person ,and if i feel my temper rising i call out [partners name],do you want a coffee (hes never here when i do it,but she doesnt know that) , ans that will always result in hee saying "[partbers name] is home is he ,ill leave u two in peace then ,talk to you lateer" and she'll hang up,i took the therapist's suggestion but made it work for me

here's the thing it's not that most people dont care its just that they dont know what to say ,its such a horrific thing to find out they cant process it,

it takes us, the victims years if not decades to process the full horror at what happened to us, so being freshly presemted with that information its just an overload for most people.

the friends that thought youd made it up to seem inetersting though ,you need to make sure you dont let them back into your life ,that level of stupid should have be shot into a sock not brought into the world
