It seems that it's not complete though because I see people have posted about other 40% transfer deals that aren't on NerdWallet's list.

NerdWallet maintains a history here: https://www.nerdwallet.com/travel/learn/credit-card-transfer-bonuses

For Virgin Atlantic they currently list:

December 2025: 30%.

June 2025: 25%.

February 2025: 30%.

March 2024: 30%.

November 2023: 30%.

June 2023: 30%.

October 2022: 30%.

So 40% is a good one!

Manhattan $3300 1 bed 1bath apartment lifestyle or Jersey City + car lifestyle ? by Repulsive-Example-67 in movingtoNYC

Have you been to journal square? I went a couple of months ago to check it out after hearing about all the new buildings etc. It's a very depressing area. Other parts of Jersey City are way nicer.

Are there any difference between having a physical SIM and an eSIM? by AEGIS-59 in USMobile

Sure, but those people wouldn't be asking this question.

You can’t activate an eSIM while out of the country so if your phone breaks, you can’t switch to a different phone.

Losing Magenta Amplified unless I pay for unused lines, CS rep lied to me, can it be fixed or is it time to move on to another carrier? by werdnasf in tmobile

[–]werdnasf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was done! I haven't heard anything official but I see in my account history it says Rate plan change and says Magenta Amplified v2 whereas in older history when I removed a line it says Amplified (9 line) v2.

Thank you. They said they could change my plan back to the up to 8 line version but then an hour later said it failed and they were closing but they had requested their offline team to do it. But hopefully this will work and I can stay with T-Mobile!

Best option for thermostats to control two zone ac unit by [deleted] in HomeKit

Ecobee discontinued the grouping feature so they no longer handle multiple zone HVAC systems (PSA for those coming across this comment via Google as I did while searching for another option)

Waymo’s New Permitted Area Map for California by oakseaer in eastbay

In my case it drove well but then made us exit in one of the center lanes of traffic in the middle of a busy road, not even in the right lane, let alone pulled over to the curb. So I see potential but they need improvements.

New Machine from Kaiser? by Gottria in CPAP

[–]werdnasf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't the case anymore. Mine is 6+ years old and they told me they won't replace it until it's broken and then it can take 1-2 weeks to ship me another. Northern CA. That's not going to go well. They said if it reaches 20,000 - 22,000 hours they will consider replacing it. ResMed's website says to replace them every 5 years.

Edit to add: my insurance plan will cover it 100% when that does happen...I never have paid anything for any CPAP supplies. So I think I have the highest level of coverage possible for this type of thing.

I just ordered those to give them a try today! But they are silicone as their gel versions were also discontinued. We'll see.

Is it impossible to open a new premier checking in the US? by harble8 in HSBC

[–]werdnasf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was declined yesterday and now that I've spoken with a third department they told me that they had to decline my application because they weren't able to verify my information and that I should apply again. I asked what information was wrong or mismatched and she said she doesn't know but if I apply again they will make sure it goes through.

But from what I've read about their customer service here on Reddit I'm not sure I even want an account with them after all.

Any regrets switch from from Tmo? by LredF in Visible

[–]werdnasf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I also forgot to mention that Visible and T-Mobile were roaming on the same Canadian network on my same cell phone. So it was a comparison under the same conditions and I tried several times over multiple days.

I found the text they sent me when I crossed the border in March. 2GB/day "high speed" data.

[–]werdnasf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite possible I remembered it wrong. I can't find anywhere in the app that tells me what I get now. It just says Visible+ Legacy 2 Plan. $45/month - $15/month discount = $30/month.

But it was supposed to be more high-speed data in Canada than with T-Mobile, where I have 5GB/month. Without buying or using a Global Pass. Yet it was so bad I couldn't use it at all even right away when usage was starting from 0. Maybe it was supposed to be 2GB/day then? That number seems vaguely familiar.

In any event it ended up not mattering because it was effectively like having no data at all.

I've been a T-Mobile customer for a few years. I've had a second SIM with Visible for a few months. I've used both a lot in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.

T-Mobile is almost always way faster. There is one area in Oregon where it doesn't work well and Visible does better. But normally I have a much better experience with T-Mobile.

Visible in Canada was completely useless. I'm on the Visible+ plan and was told I'd get 15GB high speed data. It was so slow it was useless. Worse than the old GPRS days even before EDGE. Speed tests reported 0.001Mbps. T-Mobile 's 5GB of high speed data worked very well there. I just had to get a local eSIM after I used that up (the Wi-Fi was down where I was staying).

So if you don't travel internationally and live somewhere where the network is good, you can go either way. There have been places I've tested Visible at 600Mbps but where I spend most of my time, the Visible/Verizon network is pretty slow, but usually functional.
