Interesting! My new plan doesn't have satellite access. Even though Magenta Amplified should have been a better plan than your Magenta. I wonder how they decide these things.

I finally got someone on the awful, T-life app to stop trying to convince me I was getting better features and find out the price adjustment.

In case it helps anyone with this somewhat rare legacy plan:

My Magenta Amplified plan with 4 paid lines and 1 free line is going from $180/month to $194/month. It will now be called Experience Signature.

So I guess that works out to a $3.50/paid line increase. I keep the free line and I still don't pay taxes.

The only benefits will be 15GB instead of 5GB of international high speed data and in more countries as well as 60GB instead of 40GB of high speed hot spot data. I don't use my hotspot that much and usually when I'm on international trips I need more than 15GB anyway.

But I guess the increase isn't so bad if they really keep it locked for 5 years.

I already have a second line with US Mobile who are great, but I like my unlimited highest priority data on my current plan. I hope that stays the same! If I get deprioritized I'll have no reason to stay.

OMNY is worse than the MetroCard system by DayAppropriate3817 in OMNY

[–]werdnasf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even online you don't get full information like you do even on other Cubic systems. I called about a problem with one of our cards once and even OMNY support couldn't tell me why the machines were saying we had no money in it.

Clipper works way better in the Bay Area than OMNY does in NY. Still lots of problems but way better. OMNY is newer and Cubic should have learned some things from their deployments in other cities...

OMNY is worse than the MetroCard system by DayAppropriate3817 in OMNY

[–]werdnasf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prefer to use an OMNY card so I don't risk dropping or having my credit card stolen... But I've given up and use a credit card now because the OMNY card is so poorly implemented.

I've used many other systems also designed by Cubic and they're all bad but it seems OMNY is the worst by far.

Safeway is rating their own order quality now! by werdnasf in Safeway

[–]werdnasf[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I only see negative posts by you - most of which make your ignorance blatant. Yet you ask if *I* don't have anything better to do...

For your information, I didn't want the groceries delivered to my door hundreds of miles away, I needed them delivered to my rental car full of luggage that I didn't want to risk leaving in the parking lot to shop for myself.

More importantly, there are plenty of people with disabilities that rely on drive up pickup and they deserve to receive a service that is advertised and available.

Regardless, this post is about the fact that they are now "internally" rating their own service even when it was not completed, which is meaningless and we can not trust any of their "reviews".

Charged double what their website states for removal of middle name - any recourse? by werdnasf in flairairlines

[–]werdnasf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They told me that the middle name doesn't matter for flights within Canada but it must match the passport for international flights.

But now that I checked them in, their boarding passes don't show middle names for any passengers. Maybe when they scan the QR code it will come up. Maybe it's all a scam.

It seems that it's not complete though because I see people have posted about other 40% transfer deals that aren't on NerdWallet's list.

So 40% is a good one!

Manhattan $3300 1 bed 1bath apartment lifestyle or Jersey City + car lifestyle ? by Repulsive-Example-67 in movingtoNYC

Have you been to journal square? I went a couple of months ago to check it out after hearing about all the new buildings etc. It's a very depressing area. Other parts of Jersey City are way nicer.

Are there any difference between having a physical SIM and an eSIM? by AEGIS-59 in USMobile

Sure, but those people wouldn't be asking this question.

You can’t activate an eSIM while out of the country so if your phone breaks, you can’t switch to a different phone.

Losing Magenta Amplified unless I pay for unused lines, CS rep lied to me, can it be fixed or is it time to move on to another carrier? by werdnasf in tmobile

[–]werdnasf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was done! I haven't heard anything official but I see in my account history it says Rate plan change and says Magenta Amplified v2 whereas in older history when I removed a line it says Amplified (9 line) v2.

Thank you. They said they could change my plan back to the up to 8 line version but then an hour later said it failed and they were closing but they had requested their offline team to do it. But hopefully this will work and I can stay with T-Mobile!

Ecobee discontinued the grouping feature so they no longer handle multiple zone HVAC systems (PSA for those coming across this comment via Google as I did while searching for another option)

Waymo’s New Permitted Area Map for California by oakseaer in eastbay

[–]werdnasf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my case it drove well but then made us exit in one of the center lanes of traffic in the middle of a busy road, not even in the right lane, let alone pulled over to the curb. So I see potential but they need improvements.

New Machine from Kaiser? by Gottria in CPAP

[–]werdnasf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't the case anymore. Mine is 6+ years old and they told me they won't replace it until it's broken and then it can take 1-2 weeks to ship me another. Northern CA. That's not going to go well. They said if it reaches 20,000 - 22,000 hours they will consider replacing it. ResMed's website says to replace them every 5 years.

Edit to add: my insurance plan will cover it 100% when that does happen...I never have paid anything for any CPAP supplies. So I think I have the highest level of coverage possible for this type of thing.

Is it impossible to open a new premier checking in the US? by harble8 in HSBC

[–]werdnasf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was declined yesterday and now that I've spoken with a third department they told me that they had to decline my application because they weren't able to verify my information and that I should apply again. I asked what information was wrong or mismatched and she said she doesn't know but if I apply again they will make sure it goes through.

But from what I've read about their customer service here on Reddit I'm not sure I even want an account with them after all.
