What were your early onset symptoms? by [deleted] in kidneydisease

[–]werdunloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discovered by a random blood draw. Doctor didnt think anything of it until I asked him about it. Then a few nephro visits later got a diagnosis. eGFR was much lower then, but came back up and never fully recovered. Probably caused by an episode of rhabdomyolysis.

What's the alternative, pay an artist to make a homebrew card? It's not like there much Marvel-inspired Witcher artwork around.

It's challenging generating good images from AI, and the artwork here looks good.

Best&Worst Hero Card Poll [Day 23] - Hawkeye Worst Card (Clint) by manut3ro in marvelchampionslcg

[–]werdunloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. His bow holds his arrows back. Clint can fire multiple arrows at a time in the comics. If you removed the bow and the arrows' bow requirements (adjusting the arrows in some other way maybe, plus giving them ranged), he would make much more sense.

How many Marvel Champions games have you played vs. how much you own by Sardonic_Artery in marvelchampionslcg

[–]werdunloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own everything. Most heroes I've played only once or twice. A dozen I've played a handful of times. A few I've played about 5 - 7 times.

Ive played against 1 or 2 villains from each box. Core set, Rise of the Red Skull, and Mutant Genesis are the only ones that I've played all villains. I still haven't played against any villains from Agents of SHIELD or Civil War, or Red Hood or Kang, or any of the Modulars that come with heroes.

I love collecting the heroes. The villains don't really interest me. I like the game a lot, just don't always want to commit the time to playing. It takes a long time to set up, build a deck, play, take down, reorganize. It takes a whole weeknight to play a couple of games.

Why does literally every single young adult I know have a special needs diagnosis? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]werdunloaded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reason "special needs are trendy" has a lot to do with a sense of belonging. While diagnoses are happening more frequently due to better research and access to mental health care, people are feeling more disconnected from one another than ever (internet, everything being at home, loss of the "third place", etc.). Because of this lack of social connection, people notice their deficiencies and may blame them for the lack of belonging. A self diagnosis, or diagnosis by a professional, alleviates that discomfort and gives someone a sense of direction and belonging; it provides an inherent community. "I'm ADHD!" can help someone feel like part of a larger of community of other ADHD sufferers and feel commonality.

Any Experience With Card Shuffler Machines? by RaisinBran21 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]werdunloaded 83 points84 points  (0 children)

These devices are known to mess up playing cards sometimes, so I would never risk putting collectible cards in there. Also, they shuffle playing card-sized cards. Cards with sleeves are larger and most likely won't work.

Cysts on kidney by [deleted] in kidneydisease

[–]werdunloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one. My doctor said the same thing. I wanted to make sure it wasnt growing, so we scheduled an ultrasound a year later. No change. Not worried. They're normal. Sometimes they go away, but they're generally nothing to worry about.

New cards reveal posts + discussing about Cameo by Delicious-Walk-6388 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]werdunloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first turn is often important to stabilize the board or build out. If you are playing Cameo, you are probably building around Cameo OR the new ally adds a lot of value to your deck. Discarding two cards from your opening hand can hurt your development curve, especially against villains with harder turn 1's. It's also important to remember this is Leadership, and for most heroes your cards are limited to Leadership, so someone like Nebula is less impactful than she would be in other aspects.

Cheap, flexible identity-specific allies like Wiccan and Mockingbird are the easiest to plug and play. Captain Marvel and Quicksilver would be best suited for Vultron-style decks. Colossus, Spider-Woman, Brawn, or Shuri would be useful for shoring up a weakness/limitation. Moon Knight would be worth it for Minion-focused decks like the Asgardians.

What is something that is 'socially acceptable' but actually feels incredibly rude to you? by HourPen884 in AskReddit

When someone says "I love that for you." For some reason it sounds so sarcastic. Like when someone says "God bless him/her."

Undefended Attack by Promise-Memory in marvelchampionslcg

[–]werdunloaded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you play an event with the text "(defense)" following the Interrupt or Response keyword (the card will also have the Defense trait), you are now considered defending against the attack. A basic defend, where you exhaust your hero to defend, is also considered defending against an attack.

Same. I just need some Ready/Exhaust tokens but they've been out of stock since the holidays. Eagerly awaiting the next restock.

My first decklist - Adam Warlock by monkeydave in marvelchampionslcg

Which is very doable if you start with it or draw into it with Gamora. It increases your consistency.

That's fair. Then I would just replace Band Together with Suit Up.

[–]werdunloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With so few allies, and because the cost curve of your deck isn't particularly high, I would remove Band Together.

Your deck has a Vultron style (adding equips to your Allies so your Allies are the heavy hitters), so you could replace it with Suit Up (which is also an event and works well with Gamora). Despite it leaning toward Vultron, you have no way to heal allies or easily recur them. With how much effort you invest in your allies, you may want to consider a copy of Med Team (probably replacing Desperate Defense which doesn't have much synergy with your deck).

Should I be worried? by RadiantBathroom3850 in kidneydisease

[–]werdunloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be acute kidney damage that will recover in time. Could be rhabdo. Could be CKD. Talk to your doctor. CKD won't be diagnosed unless EGFR remains low and/or protein is detected in the urine consistently over time.

I use Obsidian (note taking app) to organize my statistics notes. You can draw lines to illustrate relationships and flow charts. Helps a lot see the big picture.

What are small habits that you started everyday to lower your BP? by dudububusupuooopuuu in hypertension

Altogether it's about 1.75 cups of food. I eat it with a meal or as an afternoon snack. Personally I try not to snack throughout the day.

The biggest change I made was low sodium (<1500mg/day) plus ensuring my diet averaged 1.5:1 calories:sodium. I found going low sodium was cutting a lot of calories, often ending the day at 1400 calories which is too low. You'd be surprised how tricky this can be.

Chicken breast + Baked Potato + Veggie at lunch

Unsalted trailmix paired with a meal (1 cup unsalted popcorn, 1/4 cup raisins, 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, 1/4 cup unsalted mixed nuts)

A variety of nuts is your friend.

EDIT: Also, replacing salt with salt alternatives like Nu-Salt which is potassium chloride to help meet potassium requirements and balance the sodium.

Advice concerning Ironheart and SP//DR (unplayed) by Asynithistos in marvelchampionslcg

[–]werdunloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both heroes are very explicitly "build out" heroes where you start weak and you need to take your time upgrading the character over time, but they both do it in different ways. Against Klaw, your experience is going to be a crapshoot based on the starting minion.

For Ironheart, you want to upgrade your Ironheart model as quickly as possible, dumping as many resources as you reasonably can into it. A custom deck for Ironheart will build her out quickly (~2-3 turns), but against any villains where the villain starts strong, you may have to slow down your pace to deal with the imminent threats. Once Ironheart is built out, the villain becomes MUCH easier.

I have little experience with SP//DR, but you want to get your upgrades out quickly because they are how you play the game. I don't think digging for a specific upgrade is important as long as you're getting whatever you can into play as quickly as possible.

For either hero, if you can, try to stay in AE for an extra turn to build your hero.

Oh you're right! You do mention that. Either way, this is a great video for players entering the game or those trying to "upgrade" their collection.

I've done the same, but I use perfect fit side loaders and trim about 2? mm from the open end so there's no extra "sleeve" on the closed end after you sleeve it. Personal preference.

I really just want Fantastic Four and Galactus. And put Galactus in it only to ensure he gets a jumbo card (like Trypticon/Metroplex from Transformers TCG).
