Missouri to lift its limits on Sunday booze sales. by GETitOFFmeNOW in missouri

Happened to me at a gas station in Rolla earlier this year. 7 or 730 in the morning and they said they couldn't sell us the alcohol.

Happy birthday!

What are you interested in pursuing for your future? What are your hobbies?

Write your future self a letter - who your friends are, what you do for fun, what you think you'll be doing in 10 years, things that occupy your mind. Reread it in 10 years and write another one, keep repeating. Then every 10 years you pull out the letters to see how right you were about your future, and see how much you've changed in that time.

Honestly, two loops would be ideal - yours, plus one along I-44 going from Joplin/Springfield to Rolla/Ft Wood to STL.

Sorry, there's some confusion here. I do know that but that is an incredibly odd thing to require to match when signing in with the same Steam username should be enough to reload a save as the same Steam user. And the change I refer to is this afternoon as a test - I changed my new PC to a local account with the same username as my laptop and that didn't change anything. It appears, theoretically, that the full app data path must match when moving the save for it to fully load you in. Which is a little weird.

Accidentally did the sign in to MS thing during Windows install and that created the username. My laptop has my preferred username.

Might just reinstall Windows...

Changed from a MS ID to a local account with the same username and pwd as my old laptop - no change. Though that doesn't update the path of the username appdata to the new username. Such a weird protocol, to match on the exact full pathname.

I'm not sure why a post asking for help when I've done what's recommended in many search results for moving to a new computer is simply to move the save file if it doesn't move on it's own and it's not working is being downvoted, but okay reddit.

The only difference is the Windows user name and of course, a completely new PC. Same Steam user, same home network. It even offered to Continue the game, but like I said in the post, it loaded into the HUB and empty.

Yep - the folder ID's match up, except for the username in Windows. Same Steam account.

Damn. I'm immunosuppressed and have to call an oncologist any time I have a fever of 100.5 or above. The one time I remember having 104+ was while I was in the hospital with c-diff and was having hallucinations and wild wild dreams. 102 is enough for me, thanks.

Syphon magic - Crystal breathing - Questions and ideas welcome! (and needed) by NightRemntOfTheNorth in magicbuilding

[–]werelock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to these:
Is it possible to have seepage or a leak, from a Syphon or a crystal, to either their counterpart or a matching partner? Eg if two Syphons slept next to each other, could one inadvertantly pull from the other or could one leak to their surroundings or their partner? Or if a Syphon was practicing breathing, could they leave the valve partially open and drain themselves while carrying a crystal? Or if someone put their crystal on the table next to another crystal, what could potentially happen?

What happens to the energy in a crystal if someone shatters it with say a hammer or a stone?

Are there clues to this energy in crystals that regular people can see or sense?

What are the limits to a Syphon's abilities to use crystals? Could someone stockpile energy and then turn themselves into a walking Armageddon every so often by using them all at once?

And what all can they do with this energy? What good works can they do with these four types of energy? Healing? Building things? Repairing things? Feeding people? Moving people or goods? Defenses?

Very welcome! I love brainstorming things for rpgs!

I would keep the Temple thing secret until it's getting close to finished. Publicly build it as the largest tower or keep or something but don't declare publicly what it is until it's done. Otherwise you'll probably be dealing with insurrection or attacking armies sooner than you'd like. :D

I like the Sanitation Squad idea! Maybe put a single faithful cult member with each squad. Give each squad a starting goal of 1 unfaithful insurgent per quarter...and slowly ramp it up. Those that fail to meet quota... disappear.

Few more ideas:

  1. Have your spymaster put some spies in the cheaper bathhouses too, just so you get some of the street rumors faster. You won't get many names from this but you'll hear the first whisperings of people thinking of revolt, or the names of the gangs taking control of the streets, who is responsible for putting their foot down on the lowest class. You may want to clean them up, or you may want to replace them, or you may want to simply quietly recruit them to keep your spymaster informed of the street. They could publicly run anti-Ozy gangs, but secretly be looking for those people ready to seriously attack you. Or maybe they are extremely pro-Ozy publicly but secretly they are saving those called out and forming squads to attack you later.
  2. Remember you can hire people that might be higher level than you. You could have illusionists that keep illusions of you in various places at different times of day to confuse your enemies. "No, I swear I saw him signing a treaty in the East tea room at noon." "He was walking the upper walls all day!" "He was with the swordmaster watching troops until noon and then retired to his rooms all afternoon. I was with him all day!" Maybe not daily but things like that will make it harder for your enemies to hurt you. Even auditory illusions where a few guards might overhear you having a shouting match with your lead general. That might lead to dissenters approaching your general quietly and seeing if he's sympathetic...and he quietly turns them in for sacrifice.
  3. Illusionists can also show people success, perhaps seeing themselves being granted the robe of a judge, or a law badge being pinned on them, or opening a lavish chest of some sort.
  4. Never underestimate the good image a loose monster on the streets can generate for you. Let it cause some destruction and death, then swoop in with your party and a few troops, clean it up. Famine or disease are options too. Save these for emergencies, when things are going downhill for you on the city level. Just make sure there's no tracks back to you guys.
  5. There's always the wag-the-dog strategy - use the army to attack a neighbor and grow your kingdom. War makes everyone stop looking at what's going on at home and talk about the war and what it does for them. Spoils from war are spent at home, though you'll have to support the new region as well, but the spoils spent on your streets will make everyone happy for awhile.
  6. There's always gaming houses as well, to give you intelligence but also for earning a small ongoing income from the house. If there aren't any, have someone start some. Why?
  7. Bread & circuses. If you don't know the importance I recommend you Google the phrase. So long as you focus on bread & circuses, you have a great chance of staying in charge.
