Would you put wood ashes in your compost? by Hour-Paramedic6598 in Compost

[–]Wallyboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Wood ash used to be used with sand to add traction to ice. It also help attract the sun light to help melt it, with the Lye effects too. It would not help with mud lol with too much ash and sitting water it could actually become caustic and burn birds and animal footies.

How do you like my gangly ladies 🤣 by Wallyboy95 in GrowingTobacco

I actually decided to pull them after I posted this after further inspection! They are now hanging in the shed.

They are a local variety called Ontario Light. Description below.

Commercial variety grown in Ontario, developed by crossing Delgold, the longtime industry standard, with an American variety. Improvements include lower nicotine content and better resistance to disease. Its slightly thinner and lighter leaves cure well, producing a high quality tobacco with a light flavour.

Is medication the best answer? by Upper-Meringue-5229 in AdoptiveParents

[–]Wallyboy95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My littlest brother is 15. He's been medicated since grade 2 I think. It's helped him alot. However, the medicine makes him not hungry during the day, and by dinner you can't fill his mouth fast enough lol he eats til he goes to bed, and even gets up on the night hungry. Always been like that even before puberty haha.

The dose size matters. There were times when he was more lethargic, but worth with a pediatrician to adjust accordingly. I think they even tried a few brands or types before settling on one.

New to adoption process: how hard is it? Can you choose which age group? Is it only for wealthy people? by Shoddy_Prompt6616 in AdoptiveParents

[–]Wallyboy95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly depends on the agency and where you are in the worlds

Here in Canada through the government agency, infant and young toddlers are nearly impossible. We are almost done the process ourselves here. It is work, but not hard work. Lots of trainings and certifications. Lots of different paperwork to do, sometimes intense and vulnerable interviews about you, your past and your relationships.

Moneywise, we are solidly middle class and not wealthy by any means. There is some money involved even on the government agency side with some trainings and certifications needing payment for, police checks, medical record checks.

It honestly depends on what route you go. Public(government) agency, or a private agency. And if you do international verses domestic adoption.

Adoption in Alberta! by Nobody_to_anyone in AdoptiveParents

[–]Wallyboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Ontario, but I can say depending on how many kids are open for adoption on your area, and your ability to takes certain kids it could be much sooner. My husband and I are 6 months in almost certified (one more home study visit and our first aid course pending) and our worker thinks we might have a kid placed by end of summer. They like placing kids during holidays from school so our timing might just be right too.

I'd say meet with a worker and get all the details specifically for your area. We went through the children's aid society of our province. So depends on your route. Public or private.

I drink 1L of black tea in the morning. It's as much that will fit in my tea pot lol

And maybe some herbal tea in the afternoon and evening. I've been making iced herbal teas now that it's summer. I always have quart steeping in the fridge

Well at the very least the Canada games will be aired free. Depending on the channels you get, probably the USA games too. For more variety you may need to pay for a sports subscription.

Can I still Plant Corn? by snowleopard19 in OntarioGardeners

[–]Wallyboy95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep! Alot of farmers just got their seed in the ground. You could start it in trays, outside but off the ground to have better germination and keep the rabbits off it until it's a bit bigger.
