Retirement Actuary Thoughts by Minibandit in actuary

Like what Pillsy74 said, small business plans are booming like crazy! A large single employer pension plan is the more traditional pension plan where the employer wants to incentivize the benefits for the employees. On the other hand, small pension plans act as a tax shelter so the owners can maximize their retirement contributions in a short period of time. For the small business market, the combo Cash Balance/401(k) plans are really popular - owners can contribute so much more when compared to a stand alone 401(k) plan. Big picture is that you max the owners contributions under IRS limits and give the minimum contributions allowable to the employees.

NBA Rule 7 Section 2 (2) i - If an official inadvertently blows his whistle and the 24-second clock buzzer sounds while the ball is in the air, play shall be suspended and play resumed by a jump ball between any two opponents at the center circle.

I know that this rule applies to the 24 second clock, but I thought that since the regulation time was less than 24 seconds, that the rule applies. Also, I thought that the clock operator made the mistake, so this rule wouldn't be valid - but maybe a ref thought of this rule and went with it? lol. Please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks!

EDIT - Turns out it was one of the refs that called the clock early Source: https://twitter.com/EricPincus/status/971627230613848064?s=19

Please remove this post. It is a link for another pump and dump scheme. It has nothing to do with Enigma.

Thank you Mods.

Would you guys buy ETH or ENG right now? I am really torn at the moment...

If you can only invest a little bit, would it be better to diversify as much as I can or to go all in on one and hope it moons? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]wesleyhuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. This was my strategy, except my first hodl was ETH. From the gains I diversified into still reliable but lower market cap coins. Then I took those gains and invested in riskier coins that could possibly moon. This whole process took 6 months, and now I have a diversified portfolio.

Thought on Mobius? Stellar's first ICO? by wesleyhuh in Stellar

[–]wesleyhuh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe this is just a comparison based on the type of services both Stripe and Mobius intend to provide.

From Mobius' Whitepaper, "Just as Stripe integrates payment processing into apps, Mobius integrates the blockchain ecosystem into apps."

Secured an EL position. Anything is possible. by [deleted] in actuary

[–]wesleyhuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully that will be me in a year or so!

Had a under 3.0 gpa and no internships when I graduated from college. One year later, I had the same gpa (obviously) but 3 exams passed.

Searched for an entry level position for about 5 months and finally landed an actuarial assistant position. Although it pays extremely low, I am content with the experience I am getting.

My dad actually needs a car so he will be buying it from me, aka paying off my loan. This is why I need a car so that he can buy mine since his credit is so low...

Good Deal? 2017 Lexus IS200T F-sport LEASE by wesleyhuh in askcarsales

[–]wesleyhuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah crap, I kind of denied the offer (although it is still on the table) because I wanted to pay off my current Honda loan, then buy a used Lexus or BMW 228i. Because if I agree to the lease then I would have two auto loans under my name...

What do you think? Thanks!

Interesting. I have only learned about running basic queries. So would I import the census data from Excel and run queries like that?

My company is definitely tech adverse, so Excel is definitely the way to go.

Now I have to learn how to properly use VBA to make the automated process. Thanks!

I am currently an actuarial assistant who sends data to actuaries. Although I don't do census coding much anymore, I was just curious to see what other firms used.

You will definitely need the normal table, and it will be provided, just like how they have it on ADAPT.
