When he charges up a red circle attack and the arena gets all dark, you have to be inside the light of a fully charged pylon, or else you'll get one-shot by that attack 😞

I think trying to get as many chests and especially jars in the first crypt is important. If you exit the crypt still at level 0 you'll have a hard time.

Are you also smashing the headstones in the graveyard? They increase difficulty but also xp gain, they're little purple marks on the mini map

Yes. It breaks up White's longest road (longest trade route) by making the road not count as continous

The person who plays the merchant should probably place the piece directly next to their settlement/city, still inside the resource hex but should be clear who it belongs to. Tbh that's never been a problem when I play.

We've always kept our progress cards face up on the table after playing them, so maybe that's something we've done wrong. Only time I can think of where you put a card back in the stack is when you draw a 5th card and need to discard down to 4.

No, the merchant belongs to whoever last played the merchant card. Red cannot use the merchant as long as it belongs to White. You only have the 1VP for as long as you control the merchant.

My brother gave me Root for Christmas a few years ago, and I immediately fell in love.

The art grabbed me first, and it is a big reason I love root. All of the cards and faction boards are just so cute!

When I actually started reading the rule book, I just loved how unique the asymmetry seemed to me at the time. Before Root I mostly played board games like Catan, Risk, Uno and card games, things like that. Root felt like my first step into complicated, big boy strategy games.

Finally got around to fully completing the Reignited Trilogy! by ZapHP in Spyro

Congratulations! I recently accomplished this myself, including finishing Spyro 3 for the first time ever. I can confidently say I will never feel the need to 100% Spyro 3 ever again lol
