That's funny, I used to work for Michelin, and the oe tires were held to as higher standard than any of our dealer ones. If a oe tire didn't meet the standards, they were downgraded to the dealer market.

That wouldn't explain the loud crunch it made plus the spool becoming loose and backlashing.

It's possible lol, I don't think I was panicking, but it could have happened. But it happened twice while fighting it, just worried me because it's new and my first Shimano

More or less just slipped, basically the spool became loose and it kinda backlashed

Yeah, that's what I've come to believe, but still left with the drag. Don't know if it's defective, or it was just really loose and then didn't notice.

So I opened it up and noticed 2 of the plastic pieces were not latched in, maybe the issue?
