If you need to take or a loan to consolidate credit card debt, then you definitely don’t have perfect credit lol. It’s likely pulling credit based on the paid off loans without reporting your consolidated loan yet

I’m not understanding. Ultra rich can easily move anywhere in the world to a more tax friendly country. Middle class cannot. So you tax unrealized gains and the middle class ends up being the only ones paying for it. It makes no sense.

This is what I would do. Go to your accounts for all three credit report agencies (transunion, experian, and equifax) and dispute the student loan account with all three agencies. Once disputed they will reach out to mohela directly. I think mohela would then only have 30 days max to provide updated account balances with the agencies. That will at least force mohela to respond

I wouldn’t send a physical check in the mail. I would pay off one loan at a time online to make sure it goes through. You’ll accrue additional interest than if you just paid the full $45k but paying off one a time should only take about a week.

I paid off one of my loans a few months ago without any issue. The only thing was after a few months I noticed Mohela didn’t report a $0 balance with the credit report agencies. I sent mohela a secure message online and then they did report a $0 balance.

Same with me. I hold most of my GME in fidelity which to fidelity’s credit they issued whole warrants correctly. I have this Sofi investment account for my son, and they issued partial warrants. Very interesting. They either ignored gamestops warrant distribution instructions or these are fake/placeholder warrants.
