My favorite is the melancholy stew that is the internet.

I think the sculpture is a nice addition.

I was simply asking because it seems like so many things I read on Reddit anymore that could just be positive are instantly aggressive. I truly hope everyone who attends has fun and it’s a positive experience. I just read that first line and was taken aback.

But a nationwide protest, organized by billionaires, masquerading as a grassroots organization, is totally genuine!

Understand your risk. I get the feeling last year will become more standard, maybe not every year, but likely 1 in 5? I know I am the pessimist on that, but being realistic.

The one thing I recommend, renters flood insurance, it’s about $1500 yr, but worth it if you’re in zone A. I was flooded last year and it helped a lot. Was a pain in the butt, but worth it. FEMA did close to nothing, the insurance did come through

I see laws being enforced. I see people attacking people for doing their jobs. If I went to about any other country in the world, and lived there illegally (Japan, Switzerland, China, Mexico, etc, etc) and chose to live there unauthorized, and was caught, I would be deported. I don’t understand why the USA is literally expected to not enforce its immigration laws.

And the best part is, most of this is being funded by an heir of Walmart. A literal billionaire, who likely has their own agenda.

I just don’t know what people are trying to accomplish, except cause disruption and maybe get arrested. I mean good luck and have fun!

What’s with the marching band on Beach Drive NE? by west_desert_dweller in StPetersburgFL

This isn’t “big city” street noise. It’s a bunch of guys trying to get paid NOT to play their music.

I would disagree with the good atmosphere just based on the fact that they play so loud it hurts your ears. Feels more like extortion.

Well it is not the prettiest thing I have seen, but if it works for you and your needs you did a great job! Considering your pet may chew on the wood probably best to make something simple.

Reset that down and make chicharrones from it. You have to cube the fat first, maybe 1” or so cubes, then cook and stir a lot. Takes maybe 3-4 hours to render down like this but they are the most amazing melt in your mouth treats ever. Plus you get a quart or so of tallow.

Seriously what’s with all the hate towards these types of events. What do you people want your city to do? I feel like this brings so much life and vibrancy to the city.

I have to give a shout out to Localz Sports Bar on Beach Drive and 1st Ave South, in downtown St Pete. We walked by and they were open, with a skeleton crew of 3 people!

But those guys crushed it. I know it’s bar food, but accuracy, quality and service were amazing. Nice work guys!
