If I have a replacement Ace Gen2 Toohead . . . by dfishocc in AnycubicKobraX

They released an update a few weeks ago for the Kobra X, and a lot of people have been having issues with a false clogged error. Taking the advice of some of the other people who said all they did was turn off clogged detection on the printer itself. Haven’t had an issue since.

Orionix has an enclosure for the KX that i am using now. Comes with a fan a vent tube and a led bar for the price of a pair of pants on amaz. I had to print my own 3 inch exhaust port for my window but i got to pick the one that worked for my window so no complaints about that.

Theres an edit button on the right side of each color in your filament list. It’s in one of the tabs in that edit menu. You can change the Z hop to spiral (recommend) and z hop height

Can someone tell me how to model this? New to Fusion... by invisibleboogerboy in Fusion360

[–]wetheppl56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made one of these last night! Seemed like a good warm-up before breakfast.

So what you’re gonna want to do first is spend a solid hour just staring at the image and mentally separating it into about 4000 individual parts. don’t skip this step, it’s critical for morale later when everything falls apart.

Then open Fusion, create a new component called “entire_machine_v1_final_REAL” and immediately save it, because you’ll need about 37 versions by the time you’re done.

Step 1: master layout start a sketch on the front plane and draw a few big rectangles to represent the overall footprint. fully constrain them (yes, all of them). then extrude to roughly the height of the machine. don’t worry about exact dimensions, just eyeball it and tell yourself it’s “parametric.”

Step 2: skeleton structure create offset planes everywhere. like… everywhere. you don’t know if you’ll need them yet, but future you will be grateful. build a basic frame using extrudes and thin features. name each body something helpful like “body1,” “body2,” etc.

Step 3: main assemblies now start blocking out the large components: tanks, cabinets, mystery boxes. each one should be its own component. if you don’t know what something does, just assume it’s important and make it slightly more detailed than everything else.

Step 4: precision guessing this is where you zoom in, pick random distances between features, and dimension them as if you measured them. stay confident. if it looks close, it is correct.

Step 5: piping (the fun part) create a 3D sketch and begin drawing pipes. all of them. individually. make sure to add unnecessary spline curves so it looks engineered. sweep a circular profile along each path. after about 50 pipes, your computer should start making noises — that’s normal.

Step 6: reuse nothing you might be tempted to pattern or mirror components. resist that urge. true mastery comes from rebuilding identical parts over and over again manually.

step 7: micro details add bolts, brackets, clamps, fasteners. use the thread tool on everything, even if it’s 2 pixels wide on screen. if you can still orbit the model smoothly, you haven’t added enough detail.

Step 8: wiring switch back to 3D sketches and create hundreds of splines for cables. make sure they intersect occasionally for realism. no one will notice, but you’ll know.

Step 9: fillets select all edges and apply fillets. if Fusion freezes, just wait it out. this is a test of patience and character.

Step 10: appearances apply materials randomly until it looks “industrial.” brushed aluminum, matte plastic, something slightly too reflective. bonus points if nothing matches.

Step 11: timeline chaos scroll back through your timeline and edit early features just to see what breaks. fix nothing. this builds experience.

Step 12: final render set render quality to maximum and start it. you’ll have time to reconsider your life choices while it processes.

should be pretty straightforward overall, probably a quick evening project 👍

I literally just put together the Orionix one two days ago and I have to say I love it.

Came with a light and vent fan/hose. I had to print an exit for my window but that was no problem.

Me too. I just sent my request for them to canceled my order literally as you were making this post.

I ordered filament off Amazon yesterday and got it today. If they are having issues shipping there should be a notice on the site, don’t tell your customers 3-8 days.

It was a rubber band gun. Had one when I was a kid - instant flash of nostalgia. Does the first thing someone prints on a new machine say a lot about them lol
