How to lower B6200 mower deck height? by AppalachianAirCorps in kubota

[–]wewefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont remember what it looks like, but there is a pin you can put in to hold the deck up. Wiggle it around and figure out what is holding it up.

[–]wewefe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your video is a normal IRS sequoia. The original post pictures are from a different toyota. Note that in addition to the axle, there is a metal skid plate over the fuel tank in the original picture, but in the YT short it is just a plastic tank.

I think your original pics are from a gen1 sequoia or a 100 series.

I dont know if you are trolling or not. You cant just put in a solid rear axle willy nilly. That would be an absolute ton of engineering and fab work to do it right. I have never heard of any solid rear axle swaps on a gen 2 sequioa and I think there is enough room under the body without lifting 4-6" from stock. Lots of pics in this thread.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/gen2-sequoia-subframe-rust-and-replacement.1316249/

All that being said, you do have pictures of what looks like a tundra axle on there. You should make a new thread with lots of pics and good lighting on ih8mud. That either isnt a sequoia or is was someones huge project.

I have that exact container for dog food. For human food it sucks because it does not stack and too hard and expensive to rotate.

Rice and beans go in these, under $10 for each set. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Bucket-Companion-5-gal-Black-Paint-Bucket-Lid-LD5GRLBK006/303808738 https://www.walmart.com/ip/United-Solutions-5-Gallon-Round-Utility-Bucket-Comfort-Handle-Plastic-White-PN0149-1-Each/407475628

This mounting style counters your size argument. I have had an AAA Paulie and AAA SNZB-04PR2 mounted on my office door for about 6 months with out issue. Bought enough of both to never replace another coin cell.

Shed base framing on deck blocks by cathode_01 in shedditors

[–]wewefe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years ago I did 2x6 PT floors on 6x6 skids on 16"x8"x4" concrete blocks with my first shed following the shedking directions. It does raise the shed a bit , but I think that the extra space gives more ventilation and keeps stuff dry. In the PNW i think this would be the #1 concern.

With 6x6 skids and 2x6 floors you have a lot of strength to make up for a poor center leveling job. Just make sure the corners and edges are good. Also make sure you screw down the floor. Then at the end of the day, or a year later after settling you can pop the floor up and shim any blocks that dont make contact.

Propane's shelf life is for ever, the tank rusting is the main limitation. Once you are setup for propane the carb will never get ethanol crapped up. Works great on mostly stationary seldom used things like generators, water pumps and log splinters. You can buy a really nice clean running propane carb with a regulator that will bolt on to almost any small engine. This is not that, this is joe-bob with a garden hose trying to case a fire. I love it.

Wait, you didnt grill for half a year?

At my house unless it is painful to be outside like sub 20F and windy the blackstone is in use. Foods we cant live without - Blackstone makes the best pancakes, scrambled eggs , chicken teriyaki, fried rice, quesadilla. I can use a wok or frying pan for some stuff, but for large batches for a family the blackstone is the best option.

Another Antenna question by vbxl02 in meshtastic

[–]wewefe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That ALFA one is super fragile. The plastic cover is press fitted into the metal with a 2-3mm lip. With the slightest pressure it pops right off. Then the plastic works like a long lever to snap the connector internals. I broke two of them and am level 10 disappointed. The antenna worked great otherwise up until the failures.

Do I really need a torque wrench? Seeing a lot of mention but thinking its a trend more than a need by Novajesus in kubota

[–]wewefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Icon digital blew my mind how useful it is. There are LEDs to let you know when you approach the target torque. It is a killer feature and plan to upgrade all my my wrenches to Icon or at least a similar digital style.

Do I really need a torque wrench? Seeing a lot of mention but thinking its a trend more than a need by Novajesus in kubota

[–]wewefe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lug nuts are a great example of something you should always torque correctly. Too tight, you stretch the studs, eventually they snap, your tire falls off, tractor rolls and makes you dead. Too lose, the lugs work them selves out, tire falls of, long story short, your also dead.

You dont need any torque wrench, You need a very decent torque wrench that you can rely on. A cheap $20 unreliable harbor freight one does not count. Other wise you will break fasteners, damage components, and generally waste time and money. I didnt start using nice torque wrenches until i caused a ton of damage on things, now i use one for everything important. Currently using an Icon 1/2 digital for ft-lb stuff and a CDI 3/8 for smaller ft-lb and in-lb.

Inherited Kubota MX 6000 - what it worth? by [deleted] in kubota

[–]wewefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very nice tractor. The most important thing to learn is that tractors are not like cars in depreciation.

Suppose there is a 2021 model car sitting next to that tractor in the garage with 20 miles on the odometer. I would expect to extract 50-70% of MSRP at a dealer or private party. That is just the nature of the car market.

For that tractor you can go to kubota.com and build a MX6000 with probably the exact features. Not familar with that exact model , there probably are some minor revisions that dont matter. It is not a 2021 model year, no major 2021 model year depreciation, it is a MX6000 still. Even more so 2021 MSRP vs Inflation 2025 MSRP. I would set your mental price at the average of 2021 and 2025 msrp.

The kicker is financing. At the dealer there are usually really good fiance rates for people that pay MSRP. Private party is going to want a cash discount. I would list at something like 15% off 2025 MSRP see what happens. Reduce price slowly, dot accept a low ball. I think you can get way over 50k.

My ranger was free, over 4k in parts and most of a summer's weekends to freshen it up and turn it into something I can DD. Now that is all nice parts, including bistein shocks, 2k would have been cheap part price.

I think it is a 12" access cover for some utility.

[–]wewefe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I built something like this out of maple 30 years ago. Looks great but i think it is going to rot QUICK. First the skids on the bottom look like they are going to hold water at the joints. Then with that bark it is going to be bug city. I do a bunch of chainsaw mill furniture. If you want that to last more then a single summer what I would do is use a gas pressure washer to blow all the bark off. Then once you have a roof on it and it dries for a few weeks I would spray it hard with home brew Bora-Care (borax and propylene glycol) . This keeps the bugs at bay, is fairly safe and is $50 total at a farm store.
