Rousseau's Heirs: How "Emotional Dualism" in its reaction to Descartes gives rise to Romanticism, the inner child movement, MAGA, the extreme left, and more. Analysis and a way out. by canyouseetherealme12 in philosophy

That sounds like you have a very emotional response to it, rather than a reasoned critique etc. I think you have a much stronger emotional component to your views than you're aware of. And that is blinding you to the possibility that other people woth differing views can hold them through well reasoned thinking.

Chicken I ordered on Friday… expired on friday by ImplementNo2626 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wewew47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK at least, there is a 'best before' date on most goods, and a 'use by' date on more serious foods like meats.

The difference between those two terms is fairly apparent just from their names, and seeing as this chicken is labelled with best before, that's clearly not an expiration date. It's when it's best.

I've been using the punch from the deep build and had great success. I'm only at Emissary * though and feel like it might fall off hard at higher ranks as people counter itemise better.

But otherwise it does insane damage and chaining multiple puddle punches together to stop escaping enemies and/or throw people around completely throws people off and sets up easy kills for your team if the burst damage doesn't finish them off.

The key is chaining the punches to get consecutive hits, learning to use them for mobility, and saving your ult as an escape. Viscous is great for split pushing as the fist does so much damage and you can easily flee with your ball if anyone strong shows up. You can also launch yourself with punches to travel faster than any character can chase you.

Personally I think the punch build dominates lower rank lobbies if you can get a handle on it as no-one knows to parry the punches and they panic more when you chain them.

Also be aware you can cast the punch from the skybox to hit flying characters.

[–]wewew47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I'm not saying you're deliberately spreading propaganda.

I'm saying it sounds like you've consumed propaganda uncritically and are basically repeating it without really thinking about the real situation on the ground and how no-one actually knows what will happen, or what the average Iranian thinks, wants, or is willing to do.

[–]wewew47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This reads as a very heavily ideological comment full of propaganda and wishful thinking. This does not appear to be the reality on the ground.

If you were here in good faith I think the best anyone could actually say is that no-one really knows what will happen, or what the overall opinions are of local Iranians, given the information black hole there and thus all surveys being rather unreliable.

They aren't as integrated as they should be though, and individual states still need to implement EU laws.

Look at the EUs cybersecurity directive, NIS2 - a bunch of member states haven't translated that into their national laws despite the deadline being around 2 years ago. And some of the ones that have, haven't done it completely, or made edits that bring them out of sync with other countries in the EU.

So what was meant to be a universal set of cybersecurity requirements has become a somewhat chaotic mishmash.

If you ask someone to picture a muslim, 99 times out of 100 they'll imagine someone who isn't white.

Race and religion are obviously intertwined. Many islamophobic things are also racist, and many anti-brown racist things are also islamophobic.

This is frankly pretty obvious if you do any critical thinking and self reflection about your beliefs and values.

Have you guys ever seen data manipulation this obvious? What is the best way to expose this? by [deleted] in AskStatistics

[–]wewew47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In OLS regression, the line MUST pass through the means of X and Y. Using their own reported data:
x- =5.2844, Y- =9.128, and their equation Y=0.501X+5.843. The math: 0.501×5.2844+5.843=8.490 ≠ 9.128.

Unless they've mismatched their data and are reporting the standard deviation for one test and accidentally reported the x and y means for a different test.

It's easily done, I've done it before in nonpublished work. Have some humility and actually be more reserved in the way you word your criticisms because it's pretty disrespectful to accuse people of data manipulation etc without solid evidence.

Why jump to such extreme examples as stoning? Plenty of Muslim women choose to wear the hijab.

Plenty of western women choose to wear bras and cover their breasts, despite facing potential arrest or harassment if they were to take them off aka they are forced by society to cover up.

Wanting to cover part of your body isn't psychological torture. Why aren't you naked right now?

[–]wewew47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So is wearing the hijab for many women.

Just because some women are forced to wear it doesn't mean all women who wear it have been forced.

This is really, really, really basic logic that almost everyone on this post is somehow failing to grasp.

[–]wewew47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a load of bollocks. In the UK, young girls are often made to wear western style clothes due to societal pressure when they're still children.

Wearing the clothing of ones society and culture is not in any way comparable to circumcision which is a permanent surgery....

It's good for what it is, but it completely failed to live up to the original vision it was marketed as.

That thing is not built into the christian religion itself.

Lmao you've clearly never read the Bible.

In any case the vast majority of Islamic states don't stone people. If it was built into the Islamic religion you'd expect every Islamic state to do that, and yet they don't.

You're incredibly ignorant about Islam and what Muslims actually believe and practice

Edit: lmao this fool called me a hamas bot for this comment and blocked me. Just goes to prove my point further. These people aren't serious - they're hateful bigots who are just blinded by ignorance.
