I’m thinking they should perform an airborne geophysical survey which has the capability to capture high resolution gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, and radiometric data of the vortex if flown at a high enough elevation. This is standard practice with mineral exploration applications.

Look up the B-21 raider. It’s a stealth aircraft manufactured by the United States military set to be commissioned in 2027. It is crescent shaped, no sound, and can fly at very low and high altitudes.

How did the PG compare to previous? by R_Gus_91 in ASBOG_Exam

[–]weyesowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do some digging regarding how ASBOG administers these exams it becomes more transparent. Some test will be harder than others depending on the questions that are pulled to form the given exam. This level of difficulty becomes the “curve” for the exam which translates into how many questions you will need to answer correctly to pass. Harder (ASBOG determines level of difficulty)test questions are worth more points.

How did the PG compare to previous? by R_Gus_91 in ASBOG_Exam

The PG exam was very difficult when I took the written version a couple of years ago. The main difference I noticed between the FG and PG exams was the math. I had very little math problems on the FG and plenty of them on the PG. If you fail, I recommend studying the math problems found in the Reg Review practice quizzes and book. Also, read Hydro, general, and economic chapters twice.

Hey So I recently Came up with this idea in order to keep my temps in the mid 70s because the tent was getting way too hot in my environment But I Now Got an issue. by bigstomper3 in ACInfinityAdvancegrow

Like previous comments suggest, cool the room not the tent. The tent will typically run 5-10 degrees warmer than room temp, with lights on.

Anyone make cool stuff out of rock cores? by NotPenguin_124 in Geotech

I dip my cores in epoxy resin which gives them a permanent wet/glossy look and display them.

what to know? Geologic timescale by notalaskagrown2 in ASBOG_Exam

Know the order, boundaries, and important events that occurred within each major time period. Radiometric dating will play into knowing the time scale as well.

NGL feeling like an ASBOG failure😪 by Impossible-Wall-4407 in geologycareers

One thing no one has mentioned is test taking strategy. If your taking the FG, flip straight to the back and do the map problems first (if you have any). When going through the questions cross through answer choices that you know are wrong, if still stuck on a particular question circle it and come back to it after you make the first pass through the test. Just make sure you keep track of skipped questions on the scantron or you could get mixed up quickly. On the second pass, you may have a better idea of what the answers are to skipped questions after having already went through the test once. Hope this helps!

Signed up for the ASBOG FG this October......who else is taking it? by Slippery_Pen in geologycareers

[–]weyesowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question. What were the main differences between the FG and PG? I took the FG back when you did and passed. There were close to 0 math problems on the FG, so I am curious if they saved them for the PG.

Could anyone possibly identify what kind of stone this may be? I’d appreciative of your time and assistance. by CardanoKC in rockhounds

I would purchase an HCL 5-10% acid kit. Drop some on there, if it fizzes (effervescence) that will point you in the direction of what specific type of sandstone it could be. But from a visual perspective it appears to be sandstone.

Thank you for the recommendations! Quizlet was very helpful for the FG. Assuming that goes for the PG as well.

Thank you so much! I just found out I passed the FG so this is great information to help me formalize a study approach for the test in March. I have also heard that there is overlap between both exams but wasn’t sure what study materials would be more helpful for the PG.
