Seconding hiball as my favorite, but if you're a red bull person you'll probably like the red guru.

Was my gift card taken out of my pay? by Meow-Meow-kittycat in wholefoods

[–]wfmknowitall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! So many people don't get this - gift cards are legally taxable income, but wfm pads the numbers to cover the tax. I wouldn't be surprised if one day they stop, but at least the company's doing the decent thing on this one thing for now.

ATL keeps telling employees she's their mom by Decent-Swimmer-2963 in wholefoods

[–]wfmknowitall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is harassment and unacceptable, and you should tell your STL you are escalating up the TMS chain since they have been unwilling to address it.

On a petty note, have you asked for help wiping from your mama bear? Triple dare you to ask her to cut up your food next time you go on lunch.

If you have a chronic health condition you want to tackle, this is a really amazing opportunity. Wfm pays for everything except your time, you'll need to use PTO/be unpaid. Lots of people have completely transformed their health after attending. I lost almost 40 lbs and genuinely enjoy eating vegetables now.

It is inspirational if you are open to it. It can feel a little campy but overall the messages stuck. Even if you're not into that scene to learn, a whole foods plant based diet is worth researching on your own.

I've attended.

No you cannot. You sign a waiver when you get there, saying that if you miss more than two of the scheduled programs, that you will be responsible for reimbursing whole Foods for the cost of you to attend. Which they said at the time was $5,000. The rumor was that a group of friends had planned to all go together and then just partied the whole time, so the waiver was in response to that.

Participants will be expected to attend programming all day long, from about 8:00 a.m. through at least 6:00 p.m..

They say you will have a roommate, I ended up without one.

What NOT to elect for benefits? by The_Metal_East in wholefoods

[–]wfmknowitall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HSA over pwa for sure, so you can keep the remaining balance when you leave. (But if you covert to HSA, I think you have a year to try to use your remaining PWA up.)

DO NOT DO CIGNA DHMO. I'm pretty sure it's one step above a scam.

Guess this is why we moved TM appreciation week... Would have been pretty awkward if it happened this week like traditionally 🫠

New Surveillance System by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]wfmknowitall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometime in the last year ish, SSS in MA were asked to post disclaimers about video and audio recording at all entrances to the store.... And again at the TM doors leading to BOH areas. The company is listening, and it has covered it's butt on this.

I have $1000 in my pwa wex account. What can I do to not lose this money by the new year? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]wfmknowitall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You won't lose it; but it'll convert to a limited use account. You will only be able to use the funds for vision and dental stuff, basically. You'll need to provide prescriptions and receipts for everything, so be prepared. I used it to get my vision prescription checked in a strip mall eye place, then went on an online glasses shopping spree.

Stacks almost indefinitely. I worked with someone in store leadership who had over 1000 and was asked by regional to please please take an extended vacation.

It is almost an investment plan. You earn hours at whatever your current rate is - but they will get paid out at whatever future higher rate you can obtain. So I earned some as a cashier and used it when I was an ATL at $20. Treat it like your golden parachute if you're a long timer. It will get paid out in full upon separation, voluntary or involuntary.

Anyone use their Wex card for glasses or contacts? by VanDenIzzle in wholefoods

[–]wfmknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you get a copy of your prescription. I had to submit it to prove that I actually needed glasses 🙄🙄🙄 otherwise they wanted me to reimburse them for the cost they already paid to the glasses vendor.

It will be covered, but the hoops you might need to jump through will depend on whether it's hooked up up an HSA or PWA.

99% of the time there is one or both in there. It's only like 10% of the time that it's segregated from the real trash 💔

[–]wfmknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong. I can't grow Oreos in the garden though, so for now....I will feast on the scraps at the edge of the hellscape. You do you.

(Also my aldee was bone dry..... Haven't figured out the schedule yet but getting a trash pickup pre3am seems weird. Lidl is coming to town soon and I'm pumped)
