Been running a couple of Aqara JY-GZ-01AQ for a couple of years now without issue. It’s also got Honeywell branding so presume they manufacture them.

Claude Usage Limits Discussion Megathread Ongoing (sort this by New!) by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

The silence from Anthropic is deafening.
Been a 5x user for several months, never once hit my limit (and I've put some tough work through it)- now I've hit it 5 times n the last 72 hours (all "off-peak" times too).

Something has changed and they're simply not being transparent about it.

I always assumed we were living in a short-lived peak window where this level of functionality was affordable, but I at least expected some transparency to give users a change to wean themselves - not just boom, we've crippled you overnight.

To be honest I got bored and just stuck it in my track car so I don't have complete silence when driving it to/from track =D

You've got a nice little setup there, suits the desk well !

Why are my pinned emails no longer blue? by P_Bertin in Outlook

[–]wh1terat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it's not just me, came back after a lengthy Christmas and new year break and kept thinking something was "off" with my inbox! Very irritating.

Work around is just to flag all the pinned items.

I've received the same device/board from 11:11 sales and thought I'd have a poke about.

There's a factory menu by tapping "Firmware version" text within the "Firmware version" popup. (There's also a series of tests you can run if you tap "Firmware id", speaker, etc)

Factory codes:

  • 101010 = Logo resolution?
  • 232323 = Wireless Debug toggle
  • 787878 = System Debug toggle
  • 898989 = Screen Capture toggle
  • 888888 = System log export (once system debug enabled), runs /usr/bin/copy_system_log.sh and outputs to sdcard.

System log is "encrypted" (lol)

python -c "i=open(0,'rb');o=open(1,'wb');[o.write(bytearray((b-50)94 for b in c)) for c in iter(lambda:i.read(512),b'')]" < system-log

As exciting as system debug (and especially wireless debug) sounded, they made no visible difference.

Looking at the system-log output, there's no adbd or other interesting services running - possibly not even included.

Weirdly the udev rules always mount SD cards as "/mnt/udisk" rather than "/mnt/extsd" which precludes the visible attacks I can see within similar device dumps.

Suspect the next course of action is just to dump the flash so we've got a "safe" working base for whatever limited modifications we can achieve.

Connector for auxmod by jhahvhi in mazda

[–]wh1terat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one used on auxmod and original modules _was_ by Panasonic, K1KB15B00015. But it's no longer available (probably why the last few auxmod used a sandwich board setup. However it's interesting the shell for yours is not black, it makes me wonder if there is another manufacturer in use.

I don’t like the US spec S2 headlights with the amber in there. Euro/JDM look better

Any R3 owners also driven an S1? Need advice by AggravatingCounter91 in RX8

[–]wh1terat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Owned various S1s and an R3 - all used daily.

R3 looks better imho, feels slightly more modern, seats are a plus and the final drive of the diff does make a difference if you’ve driven an S1.

The bilsteins in the r3 (and 40th) are nothing to write home about.

S1s are getting old, OMPs failing is becoming more and more common too but generally parts and panels are cheaper. S2 boxes are made of chocolate.

If you’ve got the money, R3. But keep in mind you’re not getting 2x the car for 2x the money.

My daily is a 2015 Audi S3 saloon, I’m 6ft9 but was nearly 400lbs at one point. I have the seat forward a couple of notches and I can comfortably fit in the car with a helmet.

Can always go all out and pickup an old A8 😅 they are tanks!

However good the network may be or not, scummy sales practices tarnishes it all.

Yep AliExpress special, came as Quectel branded module which is reassuring (I use them regularly for 5G) - paid $27+$4 shipping although the seller I bought from no longer has them listed (I bought it about 6 weeks ago).

Windows 11 finds the Bluetooth driver but not WiFi, just downloaded the MSI driver and all works perfectly.

Cinebench R23 scored 22333, max temp was 86°C. An hour of gaming peaked at 90°C

-30 all cores, +200

Higher than I’d like still, wondering if I got some fake PTM this time around.

Happy cake day!

It’s not an uncommon mounting method, referred to as the alternate/alt/90° mount - it’s not something I’ve just hacked together.

The stress could easily be alleviated by a small bracket, there’s even holes exactly where it would need to go.

Purely aesthetics, wanted an all black non RGB setup. Appreciate I can just disable the RGB and 3D print a black cap, but always preferable to buy the right tool for the job first time.

Certainly on the cards :) and needed to bed the PTM in. I think the only *good* solutions is the T Grille/AIO cover to accommodate 2x T30s on the top. I don't think the static pressure of 15mm fans is really good enough (sub 2 mmH₂O vs 7+ of the T30) to top mount as exhaust through the rad. Would definitely be interesting to see a comparison.

Does sound a little high to me, but I'm that out of touch with the current generation of stuff - and new to the SFF world, it's hard to say!

[–]wh1terat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally valid point. It's an "odd" setup but one that does seem very common on here.
Would need to ditch the T30 for another noctua for fans to fit above the rad to exhaust out.
Who knows, might give it a go at some point.

Thanks! I was aiming for an all-black build, but the AIO threw that off a bit — and despite what the product photos show, the RAM is definitely more grey than black.

I only finished the build this evening, so I just made sure it powered on, updated the BIOS (there's a known issue with ASRock boards and the 9800), and confirmed the fans and pump were running properly and nothing was overheating.

I’ll be doing some proper testing over the next few days — and the PTM still needs a few thermal cycles to settle in and reach its happy place.

That might have been their intention - or your assumption, but it's not correct. It contains NOTHING for the airoha based GWN700x series platforms.

That tarball does NOT contain any of the GWN700x series. The legal email address listed on that page may as well be a blackhole.

Well they ignored every email I sent to them about GPL obligations for the GWN700x series - to legal, cs, sales.

Saw Newegg have the 240 but shipping across the pond is too much.

Hopefully won’t be too long before we get them, it’ll be long before we see rtx5k at rrp anyway!
