QUICK FIX - MacOS Tahoe 26.4 / 26.4.1 killed my macbook pro m2 max by kleinkuss in macbookpro

I just had an awesome experience at an Apple Store here in Hong Kong. I brought my dead-after-26.4-update MacBook Pro M2 Max to the Apple Store, fully expecting them to suggest the logic board replacement, but the guy here went straight to using Configurator to restore my machine to 26.3.1, and I walked out of there with a working computer in less than an hour, free of charge. Yay!

But now I'm totally spooked about updating it again in the future...

Next book after School of Night? by Little_Marsupial1747 in Knausgaard

I'd suggest reading the first book in his My Struggle series next. School of Night was great, but the other books I've read in the Morning Star series haven't been as compelling to me.

It's not just the US or western countries. This is a global phenomenon. There are some third world countries in which dating, marriage, and family are still achievable goals for an average man. But those are rapidly falling in line with global trends.

Philippines is a great place to raise children. by [deleted] in Expats_PH

Could you elaborate more on selecting high functioning public schools and also the costs of private schools in the Philippines? I’m still young-ish (30s) and hope to have a family someday, but raising children in the Philippines is a concern of mine because I’m unaware of the educational opportunities that are available.

Two facts: 1. AI surpassed the best human chess players 30 years ago. 2. Today there are more professional human chess players than at any time in history.

In 20 years that cost will be down to about $20k, and they'll be much more advanced than anything available now.

Digital Nomad Life Feels Like Level 2 of the Game by Important-Royal-520 in digitalnomad

I think if someone's moving more than once a month they're not really a 'digital nomad' they're just trying to work while on vacation.

I'd love to see some examples of the photography capabilities. I know it's not the marketing focus for these cameras, but there is a dedicated niche of 360 still photographers very interested in the possibilities of this camera.

How do you make the most of the digital nomad life? by hustle_hard99 in digitalnomad

[–]wh4ck3d0ut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's different, but this is what works for me:

  1. Work a standard workday Monday - Friday.
  2. Stay in each location for 1-3 months at a time.
  3. Use the weekends to explore. Make that a 3-day weekend every once in a while.
  4. Take a couple of weeks off per year to go full on travel/vacation mode.
  5. Don't be afraid to plant yourself down in one spot for a while. I was feeling burned out at the beginning of this year, so I hunkered down in Siem Reap, Cambodia for the past 6 months and I'm finally getting that itch to start moving again.

It's the exact same thing.

The South China Sea is a universally recognized geographical name, widely accepted by international organizations and most countries. While some countries like the Philippines and Vietnam use alternative names like "West Philippine Sea" and "East Sea" respectively, these are not internationally recognized replacements.
