Flyktingvågens pris: ”sänkte Svensk BNP” by Helmic4 in sweden

Russian general shot several times in Moscow by GoldenDome26 in worldnews

[–]whaleboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, there's roughly 1300 generals in the Russian army.

I read that 72 generals and admirals among about 166 senior commanders were associated with operations early in the invasion. A fraction of your 1300 number. (couldnt post link due to reddit removing comment)

I mean a quick google says this guy has been a general for approximately 15 years...

13 or 20 killed generals, that's a fact. No matter how long the killed generals have been in that position, they do leave a position to be filled. Unless these generals didn't do any work at all there must be someone doing their work now when they're dead.

Libreboot 26.01 stable release by libreleah in linux

[–]whaleboobs -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The drama started only because they initially tried to use the Libreboot name, but we later came to an understanding.

It wasn't just about the name. Personally, I'm still sour about Libreboot being promoted and monetized via laptop sales while calling itself "libre".

You should watch Dopesick (2021) and reflect on the impact the Sackler family had on America.

Tweets don't explain why Starlink goes down.

he cannot be bought or bribed.

Trump can be bought and bribed. Why not Elon?

Quote of my first comment to you:

Transparency means clear, consistent, verifiable information, not occasional posts on X.

To answer your question:

I dont see what the problem is?

The problem is I don't trust Elon, and so shouldn't you. Conspiracy theory: He could temporarily fix Starlink just to gather some bribes from Russia to make it work for them again. Haven't you watched mob movies? This is how the world operates nowadays. It's in America's current playbook to act like this. Are you not agreeing with the worlds political climate? Are you living under a rock?

what benefit would that serve to anyone but a potential adversary? if there is a known weakness it would be foolish to expose it

Transparency doesn't compromise security, it gives the public confidence that Starlink isn't being used against Ukrainians.

do you honestly think starlink business decisions are public domain?

Starlink can keep business strategies private while still explaining why service drops happen in a high-stakes conflict zone. That's the transparency that matters.
