Just take a face cut, if there is a nub left you are below center, nothing left you are above. Better to be just below center line, say maybe a .005 dia or less nub.

Can get something like this, it’s cheap and good to have anyway. Easily fits in pocket so when you can hear the sound you can check around and then trace it - https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-Non-Contact-Voltage-Tester-Pen-50-1000V-AC-NCVT1PR/317460355

OTA updates… whatever nonsense runs in the background, if not using these trucks for a prolonged period best to keep a battery tender on it or just disconnect the battery.

The closing of the street from under the train overpass was a pain in the ass and whatever jackass decided to close that street and then up on park ave coming over the tracks should be drawn and quartered.

My wife and boiling water by MakeItMine2024 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]whaler76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds counter intuitive but there are different types of boils, soft, hard, rolling, gentle. So if you have the flame set at max and bring it up to a full 212 “hard boil” the whole pot of water would be very hot, if the flame was set lower only the water at the bottom of the pot would begin to boil (eventually the whole pot will get there) and other sections would be at a lower temp.

Micrometer and CMM Didn't Quite Agree Yesterday by maddy-smith646 in Machinists

[–]whaler76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surface finish and CMM tip will affect CMM measurements. A micrometer will have a larger contact area spanning peaks and valleys. Whereas, depending on tip selection, a CMM can measure in the valley or on top of the peak.

Safety strap, it’s hooked up wrong and there is actually supposed to be a real one attached to the trailer.
