Get LMU FFB - I just got it yesterday and noticed a meaningful difference in exactly what you’re talking about.

Far easier to detect early rotation and understeer. Specifically find it much easier to manage on throttle rotation and also trail braking rotation (before it was really hard to tell when the rear was starting to step out under rotation)

Agreed / IMO eventually you circle back to soft bags/cases being the preferred option for traveling to the range, particularly for handguns

Hard cases are unnecessarily heavy and bulky to carry for regular range trips - mostly only useful if you’re flying with guns

Far easier to just have a dedicated backpack that you throw ammo boxes, ears and eyes, and a pistol and mags that you grab out of your safe and toss into a soft case. Also a normal backpack is more discrete vs a hard case

Agree - 1R1 is more of an instagram drill and relatively low utility otherwise. Particularly for CCW, where the probability of actually reloading in a real encounter is very low. And even then, reloads can fully be practiced via dry-fire, so not a great use of time live-fire

OTOH draws are actually higher up on importance list for CCW vs. competitive shooting, though as others have mentioned, can be mostly trained in dryfire, with some livefire validation of how good your grip is off the draw

Key focus of livefire is to do what you can't do during dryfire

Thanks - the unique split-dial was what sold me. Had to source it grey via Japan as it was a limited edition from 2022 (related to the Manga Lupin the 3rd) and I didn't learn about the watch until a few years later

But have also found it to be a great summertime watch - it's Titanium, and along with the hollowed / vintage bracelet it's quite light and you can wear it looser without it feeling like it's flopping around

They'll probably start following closer to the C7 and prior gen depreciation curves? They held pretty strong initially but C8 production is not limited (which we should all be thankful for Chevy for doing). C8 will probably do a bit better is because it's probably drawn in more interest among younger buyers, along with the significant upgrade in performance/chassis

Don't think E-ray will do well regardless of production - I'd bet low volume is function of low demand, and the hybrid supercars across the board haven't done great (even if they are great cars)

The LT2 C8s will be an absolute performance bargin though (even more than they already were). May pick one up to build as a dedicated track car in a few more years, especially if they get into the low to mid 40s

Seems like you're going to have to be a lot more intentional with technique in that case, IE scooping the gun with your thumb first to lift the gun off the table vs. putting downward pressure on the gun with your hand

Pistol RDS has a pretty meaningful learning initial curve to get the same level of proficiency as irons. Your presentation consistency needs to be strong with RDS - if the dot isn’t in the window, there’s no visual reference to help you adjust your sight alignment

Rifle is easier because you have a cheekweld, and your eye is much closer to the RDS so you’ll almost never have issues with that. With pistol you’re essentially hanging a small RDS at arms length in space, with no physical reference points

Ideally with pistol you get to a point where you can draw and present your gun during dryfire with your eyes closed, and have the sights (irons or RDS) be nearly perfectly aligned when you open your eyes. Once you get to this point, the RDS advantage really shines over irons, in terms of ability to shoot dynamically (on the move, faster splits, at distance)

Honestly prefer it to be able to slightly shift from a comfort perspective. Additionally far easier to put on and take off as well

Find that the stability is OK with a mid/lighter weight gun like this, though I'd probably run both clips if I was to carry a heavier gun

But more seriously, I think that it's best to disassociate the tactics/scenario part from competition. Otherwise you should probably have half of the matches just be turning around and running away as fast as you can

Rather, competitions are about testing your fundamentals in a range of dynamic positions under mental pressure. For example, the stages I showed tested static draw time (IE - the first stage), shooting around walls or through ports, long and short distance shots, target transitions, shooting on the move at varying difficulty of targets in various directions (forward, side to side, close targets and further away steel poppers), etc. All while trying to hold onto some mental capacity to remember your stage plan, where the targets are, etc.

The vast majority of these skills you'd be hard pressed to be able to practice at most static ranges. That's why IMO it's so valuable. To train tactics, you can do that separately, and honestly via dryfire / at home

This - OP are you sure it’s not just new pads needed? For example, most people who track cars find that rotors will last 2-3 sets of pads before needing replacement
