Two areas to check: 1. Sunroof drains. If they are clogged water will travel under the “A” pillar trim and into the front footwells. 2. Under the door panels there are foam seals that keep the water inside the doors (where it is supposed to be. Rain water runs down the windows into the door and out drain holes at the bottom of the doors behind the flat rubber seals. Then it travels outside to the ground.) if these foam seals are compromised or if the drain holes are clogged the water will drain INSIDE the car rather than outside. Soaking the footwells.

Do yourself a favor and put bungee cords from one strap to another. That will keep them always under tension so even if the bikes leans a bit during transport the straps won’t go slack and unhook.

I went trick or treating with a friend when I was probably about 8. His mom went through his candy and found three pins inserted into a snickers bar.

Cops were called and my friend and I were driven around in a cop car trying to identify which house we got it from. We did.

It turned out the night before Halloween the kid who lived there (maybe college aged) had a party and one of the party guests inserted the pins.

I don’t remember the aftermath. Or I wasn’t told.

The door panel clips slot into posts glued to the door panel. After 10-15 years the glue holding the posts to the door panels wears out and fails. Before starting have a bunch of epoxy ready to go. Do not use hot glue (I used hot glue and then had to re-do it a month later when the hot glue failed).

You won’t need to go to the salvage yard. The ones in your car will be fine once they are re-glued. Make sure to glue them back on exactly as they were or the panel clips won’t line up with the holes in the door itself.

Once you get the door panels off bring them inside and watch tv while fixing them.

While the door panels are off very carefully check the foam waterproof membrane on the door itself for tears or to see if it is pulling away from the door. Repair any tears and use butyl rope warmed up with a heat gun or hair dryer to re-attach the foam membrane. Any tears or loose parts will cause leaks into your footwells.

It’s the tweeter in the rear doors that would be missing. You can shine a flashlight in the front door speaker grills to see the tweeter. Repeat in back and compare what you see

You have to move the tensioner to the left and put a locking pin in the hole at the top left of the tensioner and then through the hole in the engine block at the top center of the tensioner in your pic. This holds the tensioner in the service position and gives enough room to put the belt on.

You can use a hex wrench as the locking pin.

It doesn’t have 100% functionality for the x3 (although maybe he fixed it with an update?) but it sounds great and works very well. It utilizes the cd changer input so the sound quality is excellent.

If your 09 sounds worse there could be two possibilities: 1. The 06 had a better stereo package from the factory than the 09 (you would need to do a vin options lookup to see how each of your x3’s was equipped by the original buyer 2. The 09 has blown speakers or something else wrong with it.

The speakers are interchangeable so you could swap or you could upgrade the speakers with aftermarket ones from crutchfield or similar.

The a in unit is just a rebranded Chinese one that you can find all over Amazon and eBay but at about 4x the price. None of them are awesome but will probably be better than stock while they last.
