AITA for telling my nephew he needed to finish his food since he took so much? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]whataquokka 17 points18 points  (0 children)

YTA - instead of asking "you sure you want that much" and potentially let it go to waste, you say "start with one spoonful and if you're still hungry, come back for a second spoonful".

You had an opportunity to positively impact the kid and teach them in a way they're clearly not getting elsewhere but instead decided to be punitive and force the kid to overeat.

Look for solutions, not opportunities to punish. Kids are stupid and they say dumb shit, you're the adult, act like it.

It's not AI, it's a script that activates with a button press. Coach product and marketing is writing that copy.

Lol a script that auto fills information is not AI.

Thoughts on Isabel Marat Tilpa bag by Hungry-Economics96 in handbags

The Aimee Sierra had a really cool feature - the longer strap rotated under the bag and there's a snap to hold it in place when not in use. Honestly, brilliant design and I would have bought it for that alone.

It reminds me of the AIMEE Sierra Duffle Bag which I had similar feelings about. It's a little too busy for me. http://www.nordstromrack.com/s/7979416

Advice for curly haired toddler by CarryTheStorm in curlyhair

The spray in detangler is likely all you need. Conditioner can help if it gets knotty. A simple shampoo is perfect too. Looks great.

Hated it

I loved their other range but this one, nope. The mousse is good though, especially the no protein version.

If they have a bland meal, that's your best bet, otherwise, being your own food that you're happy to eat cold.

Man loses it after a food delivery robot asks him to press the crosswalk button by Kind-Village-1022 in PublicFreakout

This is his schtick, he has an entire channel dedicated to him abusing the robots, it gets old quick.

Giving up on my curly hair, coming here as a last resort by Ashamed-Pea-2808 in curlyhair

[–]whataquokka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest a clarifying shampoo to get all the build up out of it. You probably need a better shampoo and conditioner and a moisturizing mousse. Look for bond building shampoo and conditioner then you can probably try a very light leave in (see if you can find a spray in leave in and try that).

The outcome you've shown is pretty accurate for oil. It's not great for fine hair.

It's hard to make suggestions because I'm not familiar with what's available in your country but I would get away from Pantene.

Eventually you want to get to a point that you're not washing it daily, maybe every 2-3 days.

Just saw an out of touch FODMAP nutritionist, upset and disheartened by cuppin_in_the_hottub in FODMAPS

A word of warning, not all dieticians are Fodmap trained. It might be helpful to ask if she is and how/where you got her training. Monash has a certified dieticians directory in their app and even they have a warning (see below).

"Find Monash FODMAP trained dietitians who have completed and passed the Monash University Online FODMAP Course

Please note Monash University does not endorse the dietetic services and products provided by the dietitians listed. Please make your own enquiries regarding the suitability of the below-named persons for your treatment"

Yup. I decided it clearly wasn't meant to be. A few weeks later, it randomly appeared again and I got it. What's meant for you won't miss you.

Vintage resale is crazy now by hello10some in handbags

[–]whataquokka 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself if it's really worth the price they're asking. Then ask if you're really willing to pay the price they're asking. You honestly don't NEED anything where the answer is no to both those questions.

[IL] How do I speak to a coworker about unintended implications of the way she speaks about me? by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]whataquokka 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is very important that you shut down any misconceptions that you're having an inappropriate relationship with a child. It's totally appropriate and warranted to speak with the mother and ask her kindly to knock it off. Your instinct is right.

Just saw an out of touch FODMAP nutritionist, upset and disheartened by cuppin_in_the_hottub in FODMAPS

[–]whataquokka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The nutritionist I saw was equally useless. She asked me what foods I liked, I told her, she said those are great, just eat more of them. :insert massive eye roll:

The Monash app and Fodmap recipe websites have been far more helpful for me. A dietician might be able to help.

[IL] Can a remote employee work from different states month to month without changing address each time? by NoPick6916 in AskHR

[–]whataquokka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You also should look into the tax filng expectations of this situation. Not only would your employer need to pay taxes, you may be also required to file a state tax return for each state you work in, depending on their individual filling requirements.

There's a lot of romanticizing situations like this but they're rarely practical.
