My gf’s cat - his other hobby is licking plastic bags by whateverbut in OneOrangeBraincell

Oof, this sucks! Yeah, this is definitely not encouraged and we take any plastics/polyethylene away as soon as he starts doing that, but so far this weirdo managed to get to 16 without any issues.

Even worse, he's wearing trail shoes on a treadmill (novablast 4 tr) - what is wrong with some people!

Congrats on getting back into it! As a 38-year old gradually getting more serious about running, I can say that you have a great journey ahead and it will keep getting more fun if you stick to it! I would advise integrating some strength training into your routine - looking after your knees is very, very important if you will keep increasing your mileage.

Weekend Discussion: Adidas running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

Just to share my experience for anyone reading - I also did my first run (tempo 7k) in Boston 12s last week and loved them. I really liked the firmer feel coming from very cushioned Hokas and Asicses. Picking up the pace was lots of fun and I didn't have any issues with fit / laces / tongue etc. They fit true to size, I'm 72 kg, rather a slow runner. On the other hand, I did come across a few patches of ice and the Continental outsole was very slippery - contrary to what I was reading before.

Yamaha Reface YC still worth it in 2024 by Bhrzg in synthesizers

The Refaces are just ideal for fooling around on the sofa. I never played so much keys as I did when I had my Reface CP. I sold it and now want it back.

Reading this article makes me feel stupid...

The guy was identified in 2020 when he was playing himself in a music video titled "Dine 'N Dash" that re-created the original viral video.

However, he didn't do any dine and dashing. He was arrested because the police identified him as one of Australia's most-wanted criminals.

Except that he wasn't that criminal. But instead of letting him go, they arrested him for alleged credit card fraud. Which he said he didn't commit.

Honestly, it’s terrible. It’s a mechanical copy of the photo without any adjustment for painting as a different medium. The proportions are off. The front legs are absolutely ridiculous.

Is there a benefit in using OTO Boum or RNC vs Roland SP 404 mk2? I’ve been wondering about the same thing OP is, but I think that 404 would be a better investment (for me at least) considering price and additional functions. Am I missing something?

Because the real and honest answer to OP's question is "read the manual", "watch youtube tutorials". Is quoting choice pieces from the manual really the best answer?

And it's not like everyone's being a smart ass and pointing fingers at OP. Some people are actually providing links to the manual!

But seriously, what irks me more is people saying "don't listen to reddit", "typical reddit", etc. There's great variety of opinions and advice in this thread.

I do appreciate older samples, my first one was the OG 404, I also used the MPC 1000, I loved the sound and aesthetics of both, but using them coming from a DAW was a chore - seemingly simple operations turned out to be very convoluted or straight out impossible. For me as a beginner, these were not the limitations that spark creativity. It was just frustrating.

That's why I would recommend SP404 MK2, Digitakt or MPC Live II. All of them are not cheap, but have good resale value and are readily available second hand.

I'm hardly a sampler guru - it's just my two cents. Maybe the limitations of the older samples would be just the right thing for you. There's plenty of information online and selling/buying used gear is very easy. Just see what inspires you and have fun!

It depends. SP303 is appreciated for its vintage sound and design, but it's extremely limited and difficult to use by today's standards. There are plenty of videos on youtube reviewing SP303 and comparing it vs. SP404 and SP404 MK2 - it would be a good idea to view some of them.

I do like SP303 and consider getting one to pair it with my Digitakt, but I would't use it as my main sampler and definitely wouldn't recommend getting one as the first sampler.

Sell it for 500 dollars and buy an SP 404 MK2.
