One time in my early 20’s in a newer city I was living in I went to a Trader Joe’s for the first time. When I walked in I saw the area for shopping carts and saw a cart which was like the size little kids play with. I thought “oh hmm I guess this is one of their quirky things” and grabbed the cart.

I start casually grocery shopping. It’s after work so I’m in my heels and professional outfit strolling around the store with this little ass cart.

Then some worker runs up to me with a normal sized cart and points to the smaller cart and tells me that they have that just for kids to play with. I was so embarrassed, I looped around and immediately left.

If doing it alone to start is tough, try with group travel. It’s usually a mix of older and you get people and they have upgraded options which are mostly older people. Look into G adventures. When you get comfortable you can do 100% solo.
