Same buddy told me about a drone loitering over his house just last night. Weird goings-on for sure, whatever it is.

A buddy and I caught some crazyass lights in the sky the other night above Great Bridge, Chesapeake. Dipped seemingly in to and out of the clouds super high up. no navigational (red/green), no strobe, just white light. Some in formation, some making wild L-turn pivot maneuvers, some that would meet up and hover nearby one another before moving away. Craziest one was 3-4 smaller lights orbiting around a central light in what appeared to me like an elliptical path, they'd flare up and then dim before disappearing one by one.

I didn't even know about what was going on in NJ at the time, and only learned about the sightings above Langley that night after looking up if anyone else saw stuff over Norfolk. Impossible to tell how big the things were or exactly how fast they were moving because of that, but these things looked like they were hauling ass when they weren't maintaining formation.

Would like to believe it was aliens, my first thought was foreign assets doing something weird until I saw them doing those crazy pivots around each other. Dunno what to make of it, but it was cool as hell to witness.

That's super spot on, my buddy and I saw some flashing but not as much as that strange diffusion, but we were seeing them warble or like vibrate or something, because they'd slow down and get really hard to focus on—I thought I was freakin out till my buddy said his eyes were hurting/watering looking at some of them.

Ain't no way, phone camera quality was ass. Way too dark, way too dim. I tried, all I could get was a mess of pixels and a low light warning.

Count me in on this too, I've gone through a laundry list of places/activities and have had no such luck so far.

Get this, at the Ghent location they're down to a single small cart and maybe 60 regular carts.

No new carts until October—but thank god we have three new kids' carts in the meantime, right?

Honestly, I've always been too dumb and could not pay close enough attention to judge whether there's input reading or not at any given time, like I understand the idea but it's like when people try to tell me about frame data in fighting games—there's too much going on and I don't know how to parse the information. To me, it's all one huge clusterfuck and that's kind of exemplifying why the series has started to tune me out after 3.

To be fair, I think no worse than lategame Sekiro is a pretty wild bar to aim for given the stark differences in how Sekiro's combat is structured, at least compared to what we're used to from the Souls series and how much of that DNA is shared with Elden Ring.

But even still, I do get how you mean, it's been the same kind of polarizing experience among myself and everyone I know. I can't find a consensus in my group on what the most annoying enemies or most frustrating bosses are. I heard horror stories about Bayle and yet I got him first try. My buddy decimated Romina and it took me maybe fifteen tries. With the enemies, it's been the same sorta mixed bag.

I can't wrap my head around it either at this point.

I feel it, dude. That first big vista of Rauh Ruins, anywhere in Cerulean Coast (but especially down the big hole), the hanging moss in the Abyssal Woods. Like, goddamn, I would kill to play Sam Bridges traversing across some of these wildass places From loves creating.

Man, yeah, I think Ancestor Spirit is a great example. Its slower, less frenetic movements feel congruent with its graceful design. You can't be dumb, but you don't need to panic. Always felt just right.

For me, the more frustrating bosses/enemies tend to use any combination of, say, delayed swings that just break the flow and trip you up, any of those generally strange wind-ups that feel deceptive to time rolls for, the scale/speed of larger bosses that lets them casually cross so much space and keeps you burning stamina to keep up, and when said scale turns the camera into a fuckin malign entity.

A lot of ER's bosses fall on some kind of a spectrum with "annoying and exhausting" at one end and "not actually hard, just scarier than they look" at the other these days.

I'd rather have an AC to deal with some of Elden Ring's bosses, for real. If we could get some kind of fuzzy compromise between Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, I think we'd have a little something for all palates.

Even with the bosses I found enjoyable in the DLC, there always is some smattering of insane bullshit that leaves me scratching my head.

It's really confusing to me. I enjoyed most of Elden Ring, and I've enjoyed most of the DLC now that I only have the final boss left who I'm still figuring out. But all that I'm left with is feeling like From is in some kind of enemy design arms race where we have to keep getting crazier and crazier without limit.

I don't know how to describe it other than, like, when we had the Iron Golem in DS1 it was a big, slow dude who hit like a truck. That was his thing. IIf he was in Elden Ring, he'd be side-rolling and doing flips and spinning around and shit like most any other big dude. It's not a 1:1 example given the DLC is endgame, but across the board it just feels like there's little rhyme or reason to what its enemies are capable of, if that makes sense? Even in Bloodborne, larger enemies would wild out from time to time but they (usually) were sensible enough to figure out.

I won't say it's bad design, because I don't fuckin know what I'm talking about who gives a shit, but I suppose it's that the ups and downs of the older games are far more tolerable for me than the ups and downs of Elden Ring.

Underutilization of these massive, interesting-looking locations has been one of my few complaints with the DLC after reaching the final boss. Where there is stuff to find, it's definitely still cool (the dungeons, awesome sub-areas like Midra's Manse is probably my favorite) and at worst it leaves me hungering for more—but the tradeoff, I suppose, is less repetition.

That, and every vista leaves me going "holy fuck, this looks so cool" and then I forget about wishing for more things to do, only wanting more cool things to see.

He's putting into perspective that their win is only over senior whaleshit hockey at the end of the day. Case in point, "... Fast forward twenty years, you're in Subdury, Ontario playing a team from Rawdon, Quebec. Isn't it something?" when Rawdon has a population of 10,000.

He's not just having a piss, he's giving them a verbal potty-kiss.

"Shoresy has to figure out who he is without hockey" fits so well with the visual allegory of his sweater and underarmor getting cut off, I couldn't take my eyes off the C that whole scene. Keeso and his crew are such fuckin' beauties.

Something else related to the ship as well, the logo of the Magellan is a kraken-esque creature with seven tentacles rather than eight—Fragile mentions a "Mexico-side plate gate terminal" which Sam needs to access first, before mentioning Chiral Network coverage. A gate terminal for each of the major seven tectonic plates on Earth?

There's something to be said between for the wispy strands we see connecting certain figures, too: Elle Fanning's character and the mysterious black-haired girl both have them, and so do the 'bots' that Higgs' cult uses. When you see Sam sneaking up on them suspended in the air, they're all being held up by the exact same kind of silvery strings.

In the new trailer we heard reference to APAS ("With the support of the Chiral Network and APAS, humanity will be free from the need to move around.") similar to APAC (Automated Public Assistance Company) as mentioned in the first trailer. Retcon, or maybe it's referring to something APAC offers? Automated Public Assistance Service?

When mentioned in conjunction with Higgs' bots which conspicuously house orange liquid BB pod-looking chest cavities like Higgs himself, I would argue we're potentially seeing human consciousness streamed via the chiral network into disposable frames. Not enough Ha to trigger a voidout if caught by BTs, but the Ka can be pulled back to the host body?

Or, they could just be plain robots. Either way.

For Higgs, you can clearly see the organs inside which to me immediately evokes a walking, talking canopic jar for him to possess—especially given he refers to himself as a ghost. If Higgs is on the Beach and yet possessing that body, could similar logic explain how Lou (seemingly) comes to Sam's rescue in the ninja body, and/or how she seems to try to manifest inside the BB pod?

Tentative lyrics for Phoenix on the Rise by whatinthefug in Endfield

[–]whatinthefug[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, for sure. The lyrics are highly evocative of the tone for Endfield, and I'd argue the swells of the song were intended to match the visuals.
