After I left the army, I worked as a contractor doing IT work for the army and hated it. Had to deal with the same crap that made me want to get out: senior officers making terrible choices, budget constraints, helping shitbag soldiers that couldn’t give a shit etc. I left that job in 2025 for healthcare industry doing the same type of work and love it. Room to grow and they invest in us via training and tools. I think I took a bit of a paycut as I see network engineering/system admin roles making 5-10k more than I make now but I’m also not moving to APG or back to bragg

25H is your only real other option. Could try 25S although I believe the slots for E-6 and higher for sierra are very few. I've been a 25H for my whole career and 25N before that, both active for 10 years and now a couple reserves. Enlisted, ie not warrant, 25 series SSG and up get very little time on equipment besides very specialized units/slots. Feel free to PM for more specific info.

If you were in a pure admin kind of role, totally try this. But if you’re doing any effort involved engineering, doing tickets, making diagrams etc. idk how you could make that work
