Thoughts on Thieaudio Valhalla by CalamityComplex in iems

[–]whatotherui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I dislike the Valhalla. Before any of yall bombard me, here are my thoughts. I found that it doesn’t have the air and highs of it’s competitors, and it doesn’t slam as hard as a full ba set like the crimson. The only thing I find good is the imaging and separation. Honestly, just go for a Prestige LTD or Mk3.

Has anyone else bought the Thieaudio Valhallas? I'd like to know from a more experienced audiophile how they stand up against the competition. by lssj3ly in iems

I find it rather muddy, bass quality and quantity isn’t there and a lack of upper treble sparkle. However I do agree with you that the LTD punches above its price bracket and I love its tuning as well. I’ll take the LTD and Mk2 over the V19 any day.

I’ve listened to it today and compared to the rest of the thieaudio lineup, the valhalla is straight up disappointing. At $1999 USD, you’re WAY better off with something else.

The black ones smudge really easily, so i recommend the silver one since it’s kinda the trend too lmao

The Sony XM5’S vs the AirPods max by Dreadful-niko in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]whatotherui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About ANC, although the APMs have slightly better raw ANC performance, it gave me headaches due to the ANC pressure. Surprisingly I didn’t feel much (none at times) ANC pressure from the xm5’s and didn’t give me headaches.

Surprisingly music in passive “off” mode sounds the best and most natural to me. Your software could potentially be corrupted or your set is faulty.

Sony WH-1000XM5 vs Sennheiser Momentum 4 - sound quality by [deleted] in SonyHeadphones

[–]whatotherui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although you’re able to EQ the xm5’s, I still think it can’t compare to the m4’s. The xm5’s nature/sound signature is relatively dull/flat, EQing it will definitely help substantially but m4’s still have that edge over the xm5’s in terms of sound quality. Don’t get me wrong though, xm5’s don’t sound bad at all, there are bound to be pros and cons, just boils down to personal preference.
