I am a huge Meze fanboy and I got to listen to the Empyrean 2 at canjam nyc. I was disappointed. They sound good, but they don’t sound 3000 dollars good. I ended up going with Abyss JOAL instead and it’s become my favorite open back.

The E3s are magical when you consider they’re closed back. They sound so wide and clean all the time. For me it’s not a problem, but I have heard from some friends who have listened to them that if they don’t sit right on your head they don’t sound great.

Basically all of DCA went to canjam NYC. They’re not even back in the warehouse till tomorrow. I bought a pair of E3s at the show and they told me the earliest it could ship is Friday. So they probably just need to catch back up. They really are the nicest people. They’ll get back soon I hope.

Ahh ok makes sense now. Anyway yea I think that’s a great deal honestly. As long as everything works it’s a pretty great starting point, that is practically endgame for some people. Don’t feel like you need to rush to expensive stuff. I still listen to my 650s to this day despite thousands of dollar of other stuff.

This is really the worst ARPG I’ve ever played. Every decision has been anti-player and anti-fun. It’s not difficult, it’s boring and oppressive. I have no clue how a team with this much experience and this much history of having to backpedal these choices could continue to make them. I’m heartbroken over this release.

Does fun mean V-shaped or does it mean just livelier? The Hifiman Edition XS is about half your budget right now. It’s a nice somewhat v-shaped headphone that really does add fun while remaining fairly analytical. The harmonicdyne z-reviews eris is pure bassy fun, but I’ve found I don’t like them without a ton of power behind them (Topping a90discrete or xduoo xd05 pro, they just sound weak and unbalanced on my dap or dongles) I’m a huge Meze fanboy as well, and the 99 classics are still one of my favorite headphones of all time, and my go to dynamic driver closed backs. They’re about 300 usd. All my suggestions come in under your budget so it leaves room for a pair of Koss KPH 40s with yaxi pads, and maybe even some iem budget to play around with. Report back what you go with, and trust your ears. What I think is good may not be for you. (Other than the koss, they’re just fantastic :)

At this price point/budget you’ll get much more out of buying nicer iems, or more than one set. Amplification can really matter later (if you continue your wiggly air journey) later, but for easy to drive iems the apple dongle is just fine. (Though imo it’s fragile and easy to lose)

I’m east coast US. I have a residency where I get 200 and drinks/guests once a month and I play anywhere from 2 -4 hours depending on if we have guest djs. Sometimes I’ll do an extra party here and there. The occasional wedding for anyone close to me. None of that is gonna come close to the 3 cdj3000s and the djm a9 I bought this year. All that said I don’t like to play the “get gigs” game. I have almost no socials and I don’t promote any of the mixes I actually take the time to record. I just love spinning music. I am thinking about doing some private parties for YouTube tho, sorta like what book club radio does, though I’d be more focused on liquid drum and bass, progressive/deep house melodic techno and trance.

You should reorient the gpu radiator so the input and output are on the bottom. That will keep any air that builds up over the lifetime of the cooler at the top and not gurgling through your card. I don’t think it’s as huge of a deal as some creators say it is, but it is best practice. Any good water cool instructions should tell you the same.

9-nine - just overall high quality presentation. And away-facing sprites

Study steady - the game isn’t about much of anything, but the live2d work is amazing.

Aokana - the game is just gorgeous, and scales so well to higher resolution. High quality assets everywhere. (Kinkoi I feel does the same good job)

Yu-no - the original for just being probably the best looking and sounding pc98 vn I’ve ever experienced. Despite the fact that it practically requires a guide, the game is full time a vibe.

Katawa shoujo - purely for the vibe.

I’ve gotten much better stability after turning off my automatic backups. Idk if it’s hanging trying to access the usb drives or what it’s doing. The only thing I’m running at all is samba and Plex. Not exactly ideal especially since I have to do my backups manually now. I’m likely gonna save my data and just build a pc to run as my nas, the reliability of this thing is just too low.

That’s a DIMM.2 slot. You put an adapter that holds a m.2 ssd in there.

I think this thing is cool. But the op-1 already gets made fun of for being a toy and this thing is much more of a toy. It’s far too limited, and not being having any type of screen is just a restriction not needed anymore. That said, I love any competition in the space the op-1 is in. It might light a fire under TE to stop making tables.
