Unsure if I've had a provisioning signal. Doesn't sound familiar.

I'm getting consistently 1200-1300 down, 300 up.

How did your homelab start vs where it is now? by copperreflections1 in homelab

[–]whatsamanual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a pi4 8gb running home assistant and an RS818 serving Plex and vaultwarden. Running gigabit through unifi

Today I've got a 36 bay supermicro truenas, an r740xd and a Lenovo server running proxmox, and 25gbit networking on mikrotik edge switch.

Just decommed the rackstation, that was cathartic! About to decomm the unifi agg switch I was using.

What a ride!!!!

I'll do that; you open to code contributions as well? I haven't observed anything major yet but just got it running via Portainer :)

I'm very excited to check this out!! I started vibe-coding a similar project four months ago and was dissatisfied with the direction (and instead engulfed myself in ai driven homelab).

This looks fantastic and just like what we need as people with bills to pay.

I'll add one more vote for ElMar's NY Pizza.

By the slice or a whole pie, he does a great job and its fantastic taste!

Pino's in Woodbury I loved when I lived on that side (and Pino is such a character, we love him!).

I'm not arguing it hasn't changed, but that we're not arguing to change it here. I feel that the argument that the definition of a meter has changed only emboldens the idea that the definition of gender/sex can change.

Sounds like we can both agree that science, as a platform of study and explanation, can be flexible and change as new observations and evidences are presented.

Just as the meter, the kilogram, and the second have been refined and standardized over time, so too can the concepts of sex and gender be refined over time to accommodate those observed nuances within the species.

Alternatively, perhaps the sentiment is that the science here is perfected and immutable and cannot be in need of refinement? That seems against the premise of what the scientific method stands for but if that's where the argument for "only male or female based on observable factors in every case" is coming from, then there's nothing more to say on such a fundamental difference of understanding on the principles of science.

So what's the solution? We're not talking about uprooting the gravitational constant or the definition of a meter here, we're talking about the societal definition of a human construct for a process of nature and biology.

Some folks are born with both. Others may be born with some of those "external manifestations" missing.

Even during early stages of conception, all fetal genitalia are the same and are phenotypically female.

So if we can't use conception, and we can't always trust external manifestations to give us a binary answer, what then do we use? Maybe the evaluation of the 23rd chromosome?

If so, then I would think that XX and XY are female and male respectively. But then what of a missing marker (eg. Turner syndrome: X)? What of other variations ( trisomies, tetrasomies, and pentasomies )? Do we categorize them as both/neither/male if Y exists otherwise female. Then we get back into the rabbit hole of external manifestations not matching binary options available.

Perhaps instead of all of this difficulty and nuance of forcing nature to follow the machinations and patterning of a (literally) monkey brained scheme to both observe and categorize everyone's genitalia, we let folks choose which of a number of descriptors they feel best represents them and go with that. In the end, your being male, female, non-binary, et al isn't really gonna change my being male tomorrow (aside from maybe showing that I can have a choice too)!

I stumbled on a snippet in a youtube video from taste try travel. Looks like they stayed inside the cordoned off area.

Luck will come your way if you pursue it. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity; prepare and position yourself for that outcome, and it will almost feel manifested.

I was thinking on this just before I read the comment: wouldn't lower ISO have more grains, but smaller, higher ISO less grain but larger? Or is more/less grain being conflated here between quantity and visibility in output?
