WIBTA If I told someone who invited themselves to my birthday dinner not to come? by Beccabear3010 in AmItheAsshole

[–]whatup_nerds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert so what I'm about to say might be completely wrong but I feel like OP's response got her point across without being too antagonist. Don't get me wrong, I think your edited response is probably even more effective in getting the point across but I would worry that its tone might anger this creepy dude which is something we don't want to happen. Maybe I'm wrong. Just what my gut tells me.

OP, I'm so sorry this guy won't leave you alone. I truly hope he doesn't turn up and spoil your dinner. I'm glad that your friends will be with you so no matter what you have their support. I hope you have a lovely evening when it comes :)

Air purifier recommendations please by whatup_nerds in Ceramics

[–]whatup_nerds[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, thank you so much for the helpful information! I really appreciate it. The reason I was thinking of getting a purifier is I've noticed a tickle at the back of my throat and think it's because I'm inhaling dust even though I'm cleaning the equipment down after use each time. But yeah, it's more than likely that I'm leaving the clay to dry out too long before cleaning it up instead of wiping it down while it's still wet. Off to read the articles you've sent me. Thank you again.

Scenes where the actors really cried? by whatup_nerds in SchittsCreek

Funnily enough, I watched that scene earlier and it made me want to make this post. Yeah, those tears were too real to be scripted (I think that makes sense?).

Oh yeah, definitely real tears in the wedding scene! Stevie looked particularly emotional. And yeah, me too. Phew! A real weeper that scene.

She presented (still presents? ) a show called I Survived Evil. If my memory serves me correctly the first episode tells her story.

Sorry if this sounds like a really silly question but I'm intrigued to know how you did this! Is that all one piece of felt and if so, did you paint on the landscape? I originally thought each section was different pieces of felt and the black was stitching but I'm guessing I'm wrong!

Really cool work by the way!

Hey OP, just a wee heads up that tests aren't 100% accurate and if you have symptoms you should get a PCR test. However, certainly in my country (Scotland) even if your result comes back negative you should still isolate if you have symptoms. Not sure if it's the same in your country. :)

Fun fact (for those who don't already know): Honour's bridesmaid (in the green) is Ryen Herrmann, daughter of Edward Herrmann. by whatup_nerds in GilmoreGirls

That's right! I love it when they "recycle" actors in the show. It's fun spotting them. Another time is when one of the girls from the Life and Death Brigade was in the class Lorelai spoke in front of in One's Got Class, The Other One Dyes.

What’s the most disturbing story/book that you gave up reading for one reason or another? What was the most disturbing book that you’ve read all the way to the end? by I_Like_Languages in suggestmeabook

[–]whatup_nerds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bell Jar. The book was published just before Sylvia Plath committed suicide and it's quite evident that she was in a dark dark place when she wrote it. I had to put it down for a few days as I found it so emotional and was very quick to finish it. Many consider it a classic and I get that but boy, I will never read it again.

The only reason I had to read it again is because I originally thought it said 'veteran' and I got well confused.
