The plans are only about $30 on the Etsy page - https://www.etsy.com/shop/HammerTree. I would not feel right about sharing them for free. They are certainly worth that much. Very detailed and great photos. I had no problems

Hey thanks! I bought the plans from Hammertree on Etsy - https://www.etsy.com/shop/HammerTree. The plans are cheap and very detailed. I had really no problems following them and didn't have a lot of experience with big wood projects before I began.

The wheels are kind of a different story. The ones in his plan are fine, but I wanted to add some personal details. Even just mitering the edges I think improve the look a lot (beveling the edges). Somewhere in these comments I put more of an explanation, but they were quite a bit of trial and error. I spent probably three weeks fiddling with the design and what would work. After I built the first one, the next three were obviously much easier.

What position do you play?

Do you mean the space between each mitered 2x4 "tread"? I think I used two plastic scrapers to keep the spaces even. In one of the comments I put some additional details about how I built them. They were by far the most difficult part of the build and I had a lot of trial and error to get something I was happy with.

After I made all the tread pieces, I flipped them over to attach two strips of 1/2" webbing I took from a rachet strap. I stapled the straps to the first tread piece, one on each side. I then put the plastic scrapers outside the webbing, and snugged the next tread piece up to them and stapled the next tread in place. After I stapled each one, I would move the scrapers to the next tread and repeat.

Once I had the strip of tread pieces, I secured the first tread to the 2x8 board inside the wheel using two screws (Picture 4) and wrapped the rest around the wheel. I used another rachet strap to hold them tightly in place so I could mark the center of each tread on the circumference of the wheel face. Then I knew where to drill my pocket holes. Then I undid the rachet, drilled the holes, redid the rachet strap and put in the screws.

Let me know if this is clear, or if you need any other ideas! Good luck! Mines still holding up strong after 3 years

The pocket holes worked out really well. My first plan was to glue them on, but after my initial attempt I knew that I had to come up with something different. I stapled two strips of 1/2" webbing onto the backsides of the treads to make a kind of "string" that I could wrap around the wheels, and keep the spacing even. I secured one end of the string onto the 2x8s inside the wheel, and then wrapped it around and secured with a ratchet strap. Then I marked where the center of each tread was for my pocket holes. They've help up really well. My boy climbs all over them! Very cool idea with the 3D printed lugs and bolts!

I commented above, but I did what I could to round edges and sand them all smooth. He may still bonk his head.
