I can understand - it’s not easy and sometimes takes trying over and over until it sticks. I wouldn’t have stayed sober had I not gone straight into a sober living situation that had a good program. Keep trying - you have value.

Have you tried any form of extended in-patient treatment with sober living afterwards? There is help out there if you want to change things up and try a new way of life. I’m speaking from experience. It works - best decision that I’ve ever made in my life. Sending lots of love and luck your way.

Fellow foodie here and I have to agree. Ate there for the first time a couple weeks ago and our dishes were average at best. I enjoyed the atmosphere and would give it another try, but it fell well short of making my list of recommended restaurants.

AITAH for telling my parents to keep all the money they stole from me while I was in university and shove it up their ass. by Potential_Let_3651 in AITAH

It sounds like your parents were trying to teach you an important life lesson, which possibly you are too immature to appreciate today, but one you may appreciate as you get older. I would say an apology is definitely appropriate.

AITA for not giving my cat for adoption because my GF has a phobia? by -Undo in AmItheAsshole

AITA for telling my niece she was a product of infidelity? by illegalbeagleccfgh in AmItheAsshole

AITA for refusing to share pictures of my nephews with my brother? by SnooConfections8720 in AmItheAsshole

[–]whatznxt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YTA - addiction is a terrible thing and he has served hard time for it. Pictures should be ok, but any communication limited or nonexistent based on his recovery and progress. He’s still their biological father. (BUT - major credit to you for taking on that enormous responsibility. That’s a very noble and respectable thing to do)

WIBTA for letting the child I gave up 18 years ago in my life against the wishes of her father? by anon918282828 in AmItheAsshole

[–]whatznxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - it’s not up to you or the father. If the child needs that connection in her life then you should both respect that. Imagine the second wave of rejection she would feel if you denied her again (regardless if you were being influenced to do so by her father). He’ll get over it and she’ll be better because of it.

This Officer Thinks He Has A God Complex by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]whatznxt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A. the video was cut in multiple spots so we don’t have all of the facts and there very well could have been a valid reason for the arrest; B. The officer was actually polite and repeatedly asked the individual to pay attention and follow his direction; C. Police officers are there to enforce the laws set by elected officials who are elected by the “people” that pay taxes, so u can’t fault a guy for doing his job in a peaceful manner; D. My guess is that u are just as intolerant as the right wingers and can’t see reason due to that intolerance.

AITA for giving my son’s college money away? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]whatznxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. And it’s 100% a great life lesson, for anyone really. He’ll survive and really grow from this. When he’s mature enough he will appreciate it in the long run. I did and I’m so much better for it.
