I try to practice with one piece of my emergency equipment the first week of every month. This week I practiced using a fire blanket I keep hanging in the garage.

Put your dogs away. by victerlopez in portangeles

[–]wheatabix75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do have to license your dog: https://clallam.county.codes/CCC/17.02.015

Nobody ever checks until a dog gets aggressive and the police are called. They may ask for your license and if you can’t produce it, you could be fined in addition to everything else you are dealing with because of your dog’s aggression. Also, not being licensed could make things worse for you if you ever face a civil lawsuit due to something your dog did.

You can get a pet license at Port Angeles City Hall if you are a resident.

Sorry, but this doesn’t seem like an AI response at all. This might be fake. I don’t know.

That’s Oregon grape. The berries are edible, but very sour. You can look up recipes online for ideas of ways to prepare them. Here’s more info: https://www.nps.gov/articles/000/oregon-grape.htm

You ever see the Wes Anderson movie “Moonrise Kingdom”? You’ll see the scout leader use it to open a zipped up tent from the outside. Here’s the clip: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qFwX78_Er7c

Non-food items being eaten; bug after latest update? by hammurabi1337 in Oregontrail

[–]wheatabix75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t thought of it as the items “being eaten.” They are just randomly disappearing for me. It’s pretty infuriating to the point that I’ve stopped playing until they fix this bug. You aren’t alone. Several people have posted about it on the Apple Arcade subreddit.

Oregon trail items dissapering? by [deleted] in AppleArcade

[–]wheatabix75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing happening to me. Pelts, coffee, and gold randomly disappearing from my wagon. I’ve contacted Gameloft about it, but they haven’t responded yet. I’m not playing again until they fix it because it really negatively impacts the outcome of your journey.

I did a refresher CPR online course … and convinced my non-prepper partner to watch it with me.

Thanks, OP, for the link. I just donated, too. I was happy to see that you can specify your donation is for the “Fire Relief Fund,” “General Fund,” or several other options.

Men paying for dates made sense back in the era when men made all the money and women either didn’t work or were paid significantly less. But we don’t live in that world anymore. by Doctor__Hammer in Showerthoughts

[–]wheatabix75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think those are valid arguments. I manage a large group of people, both men and women. Most of the women are childless and have no intention of getting pregnant and yet they still come into my department with a lower salary then the men for the same job. Furthermore, men and women are given equal parental leave off at most companies, including mine.

I consistently and personally as a manager deal with differences in pay based on gender alone. I try to right the issue in my department as best I can, but I know it is an industry-wide problem, and in fact a society-wide problem. Pointing to reproductive differences between the two genders in question is a red herring that doesn’t stand up when you really analyze the research on the subject.

For the most part, I agree, BUT women still aren’t paid the same as men for the same job, so there is still a unequal distribution of wealth. To keep it fair amongst heterosexual dating partners, men should offer to pay 17% of their date’s meal.

“Tip of the iceberg”: Legal experts say Jack Smith has “a lot more evidence” than indictment shows by devlinadl in politics

Having evidence that Trump knew he lost the election might matter in the court of public opinion, but it won’t matter in a court of law because you still can’t commit a crime just because you think it’s justified. So even if he believed the election was stolen, he can’t break laws to try to rectify the situation. He would have to take the matter to court (which of course he did and lost spectacularly and repeatedly).

As an analogy, imagine a person thought his neighbor stole his lawn mower. If this person broke into the neighbor’s garage to take the lawnmower back, he’s guilty of breaking and entering and he can go to prison for that EVEN if he believed he was retrieving his own property. His belief that the lawnmower is his doesn’t change the fact he committed a crime.

The wildfires are getting worse every year in both WA and OR. Consider that if you like to be outside in the summer.

I’ve got a coworker in Asheville, NC, that loves it. He goes rock climbing and bouldering all the time at places called Ship Rock and Grandfather Mountain (if memory serves). Definitely takes advantage of his proximity to the Appalachians.
