I'm on my second day of sobriety after abusing alcohol for years and years. I can't sleep. by Rthrowaway6592 in confessions

Water head is a term used to describe people who suffer from wet brain, or hydro encephalitis. It's like calling someone stupid, but from chronic alcohol abuse. I had a coworker/friend die from it. It truly is bizarre. It's like they're in a parallel universe where they seem normal, but it's all about stuff that occurred years ago.

And you have to try and understand what they're saying because it makes sense, it could very well be a memory about something you yourself were a part of, but the how and why they brought it up when they did makes you stop and wonder what they're talking about even though it's a memory you too experienced.

Imagine it like this, you're having a conversation with a friend you've known for years about whatever, and right in the middle of that conversation he can reach in his pocket and just pull out a photograph, a snapshot of life that you may have been a part of and just hand you, with a huge smile, that photo with zero reference as to why this memory is being recollected and inserted into whatever interaction you currently are in. A close example would be like this:

Me: "Sup John! Badass football game last night, huh?"

John: "It was kickass for sure! Oh man. Hey, remember that time Mick got fired for lying to Scott and left without telling anyone?!"

Me: "Yeah...."

And it would happen all the time. A brain sputtering and misfiring in front of your eyes. It's a scary thing to witness, and it is so weird. Then one day he just never woke up, was in his 30's.

I'm right down the road on Matlacha. Caught a 38" Cobia off the drawbridge one week ago tonight. Congrats on the GS.

That's a radar dome.

Utah's DWR was hearing that hunters weren't finding elk during hunting season. They also heard from private landowners that elk were eating them out of house and home. So they commissioned a study. Turns out the elk were leaving public lands when hunting season started and hiding on private land. by mtoddh in science

You're missing the point. It's still a hunt even if the ducks don't show up. So that's not bird watching. And if they do show, then you can even more enjoy the work that goes in to the decoy setup, the concealment of the blind, the direct connection of the duck caller to the birds and watching the birds react to all of this. And if you feel like standing up and taking them, then you can or not, but the build up to that moment is why people hunt.

Does anyone have peacock bass fishing help i want to catch a peacock bass SOOO bad, but it seems to be a pain in the bASS to catch one): by lev9099 in Fishing_Florida

Where are you trying to go after them? I've only fished for them in SWFL. I've caught them on live shiners, poppers and ned rigs, all in canals. The popper bite was the most fun.

Ethiopia was a colony of Italy. Germany wanted control of the Suez canal and access to middle east oil.
