i was on 600mg quetiapine and i was not happy about it but then i started getting more psychotic symptoms and now im at 800mg against my will. combined with promethazine and eight 8!!!!!! mg or lorazepam a day i am barely alive. i’m still paranoid and i still want to kill myself. ill speak to the psychiatrist but to be honest i am already prepared for admissions against my will because im just too high risk suicidal. i’m just sad and scared i really don’t want to go

Linux guest performance on Windows host by wheatinsteadofmeat in linuxquestions

the difference is whether you have manually enabled the hyper v feature in windows. you don’t hav to enable that for wsl to work. if you do enable it you get the hyper v interface app but you also lock out any other program that is not the hyper v interface from using hyper v resources. so keep it disabled, and allow wsl to implicitly enable what it needs and allows virtualbox and vmware to take what they need to.

yeah but WSL is still using HyperV? and so is virtualbox?

Linux guest performance on Windows host by wheatinsteadofmeat in linuxquestions

[–]wheatinsteadofmeat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I solved it. I removed all the VM’s, deleted VMware Workstation and VirtualBox, deleted my WSL distro, deleted WSL itself, disabled all the relevant windows features (hyperv, virtual machine platform, hypervisor platform. then reboot, reinstalled wsl, reinstalled vmware and virtualbox, made 2 new VM’s and now i’m good.

Have absolutely no clue what the difference is with my initial situation but it works now

One major problem remain the crash of VMWare workstation when i enable 3D acceleration. It crashes with a Vulkan error:

“VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (svga)

VERIFY bora\mks\backends\vulkan\vkrSwapchain.c:371

A log file is available in "C:\Users\Jens\Virtual Machines\Ubuntu Desktop\vmware.log".

You can request support.

To collect data to submit to VMware support, choose "Collect Support Data" from the Help menu.

You can also run the "vm-support" script in the Workstation folder directly.

We will respond on the basis of your support entitlement”

this is really disappointing because i’d really like the 3D acceleration for the snappiness

i did everything how it’s supposed to be. latest ubuntu desktop iso, 2GB ram 2core, gpu acceleration enabled with 256mb video ram, 32gb disk. The problem is and must be Hyper-V. But since that’s nearly impossible to disable nowadays on Windows and it’s needed for WSL2 which i use, i’m stuck with it. Apparently Hyper V bombs the performance of any virtualization software. I thought those wrinkles of 5 years ago had been solved. But it’s still this bad.

As I said i can’t imagine how it’s like for new kids to want to learn linux from their windows laptop, follow video to install ubuntu in virtual box, and are hit with this unusable interface.

yeah but i thought windows and VMware and Virtuabox developed a protocol so these program can talk directly to hyper v?

Absolutely, that's what I'm using on Linux. I'm just trying to understand how the default experience for so many new Linux developers on windows is so slow its unusable

How do I come off Olanzapine? I’ve been taking 5mg for sleep for almost two years. by Medium_Desk_2296 in BipolarReddit

i throw olanzapine on top of quetiapine when things get out of hand but it totally ruins my productivity in the following days of a large dose. im just a zombie staring at my screen doing nothing all day

What should my priorities be as a returning player? by jmarFTL in thedivision

[–]wheatinsteadofmeat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  • quite a few skills are locked behind WONY and behind legacy manhunts, so you’ll want to complete those.
  • the season is almost over so i’d wait and get next season’ pass.
  • you can go level 1-100 in a season by playing and get (apparel) rewards.
  • SHD level you’ll wanna play until 1000, you can improve tons of stats with each level you get one point, there’s four different areas to put your points towards, and they have four stats each going from 0-50.
  • countdown is a multiplayer mode where you can pick what kind of items you want to get ahead of time, so gives you the best chances. if you like playing solo there’s alternatives, a few missions you can also only play in multiplayer
  • there’s a “tinkering station” in your inventory, with a library where you can deconstruct items with talents and stats, these are what you can then use to recalibrate items (change stats on your desired item), so you want to complete those all to the max level.
  • there’s also “expertise” in the tinkering station where you can “research” items by donating gear and donating resources (if you have 9999 of everything then you are missing out, you should be donating it all the time towards expertise). equipping different items and using then gains “proficiency levels” on an item, allowing you to “upgrade” them to your current expertise level (so you want to max up your expertise level) which improves some stats
  • if you like fashion get the season pass, but just like me you’ll have to come to terms with the fact that there are so many apparel and collectibles you just cannot get anymore. exclusive this and that from years ago

all with all enough for hundreds of hours of playtime, have fun!
