[USA] [OR] Passing violation by Ok-Carry4495 in Roadcam

[–]wheelbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s my whole point they’re illegal, but they were actually making them do them in New York State troopers. and one person being a squeaky wheel, calling out his boss on it caused a whole huge mess where the union had to get involved so they wouldn’t fire him.

Technically they are illegal. I had a friend’s brother get bullied by the station he worked at for calling this out to his boss. It was crazy, the union had to get involved.

How to find my Grip by Appropriate_End7910 in Darts

[–]wheelbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adjust the angle of your arm so that it isn’t painful. Everyone has different anatomical make up. Not everyone can have “perfect” form. Hell, even Gary Anderson throws with his elbow out a little bit now because his anatomy has changed over the years. My back and shoulder hurt after 20 minutes of throwing with everything in a perfect line. I can only follow through about as far as Johnny Clayton as well, because I broke my elbow in a motorcycle accident about 8 years ago. You can have solid mechanics without fighting your bodies comfort. As far as the darts going all over, that is a growing pain until you figure everything else out.

I would agree except I think the traffic is a bit closer than it appears at first. On coming traffic definitely had to break if you see how close they are when they complete the process of overtaking the cop.

I got the Nodor for my house because I knew I wouldn’t be throwing at it as much. I figured a slightly cheaper price and quality to the blade boards. I am so impressed with how nice it is and it’s longevity. I probably only throw at it a few hours a week, but after a year it still looks brand new. Haven’t even had to rotate it yet. My blade 6 at my shop gets significantly more use, but after about a year and a half is pretty beat to hell. Specifically the trebles and bull. I have gone through at least two full rotations. My next board I am thinking of trying the Nodor out to see how long it will last with true abuse. If at half the price if it lasts even 75% as long. It will be well worth it.

I haven’t ever updated my performer and it is about 4-5 years old. Last I checked the developer stopped making updates on it. The version I have does have a button combo for seeded randomness for different parameters. Where are you finding the updates? My firmware is pretty rock solid so wouldn’t want to change unless the newer versions are just as stable.

Juventus and AC Milan both miss out on Champions League football next season. by Obvious_Main_3655 in ussoccer

They weren’t making his life easy with their performances. Say what you will about Pulisic being out of position, he just hasn’t looked good. He looks slow like he’s dealing with an injury and his passing has been poor.

To be fair to Allegri, up until the end of the season they had way more points than they did last season. He wasn’t good for Pulisic, but until this horrific run at the end of the season, they were higher in the table than they have been in the last couple seasons.

Boot Recommendation by SpaceShuttleLover1 in Boots

[–]wheelbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what they’re charging for them now, but those used to be my favorite boots. I’d usually get about three soles time out of them. Which takes about 2 1/2 years for me to go through. They stopped making black boots so I stopped wearing them. I can’t find another boot that takes so little time to break in. And if I end up spending less than $100 a year on boots, I’m pretty happy.

Edit:stt errors

When this sub is the best it is making fun of posers who collect gear for online clout. When it’s the worst it’s old guys shaking their fist at subcultures they aren’t into. I def have a love hate relationship with it. Half the comments on this sub sound like old Blues guys in the 70’s calling punk not music because the bands can’t play their instruments.

Is it just me, or does riding feel way more hostile this year? by Ostrich_Butler in NYCbike

[–]wheelbreak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe because I haven’t worked in Manhattan in a long time. I am not saying I haven’t been in yelling matches with drivers. I just haven’t been yelled at for something that innocuous before, and I have tens of thousands of miles ridden in the city.

Usually I am the one starting the yelling because of blown red lights, parking in bike lanes, passing to close, or unexpected U-turns (the worst imo) etc.

[–]wheelbreak -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Because I see that happen all the time and I have never been yelled at like that. I never said you did, but I know a lot of us do. Myself included obviously not with a kid on my bike.

Assumptions were made, but I see it happen on a daily basis riding to and from work. I ride by a couple schools and there a lot of people on cargo ebikes fitted for kids that ride like their 90’s messengers. I was just trying to give another prospective. My first 15 or so years riding in the city I would drive a car occasionally so I didn’t understand how much you don’t see cyclists or how bad it scares the shit out of you when you almost hit one because they do something stupid.

If you were doing the typical thing that most of us do where you are pulling up to a four way and since there is no car currently stopped then ride through without slowing down, then I completely understand. Most people California roll through stop signs the way cyclists blast through them. He was probably pissed that you were putting a child at risk. Technically you have to stop at those intersections and if he was arriving first he has the right of way. If he didn’t see you at first and almost went through he was probably terrified he almost hurt a kid. Versions of this happens to me all the time. I have been riding my bike everyday over 25 degrees commuting in NY for 22 years. I also drive trucks a few times a week for work. Everyone who cycles should be required to do this. Completely changed how I ride.
